Im going to a new school
I've always been in private schools with few students. In grade 9 the entire school (grades 1-9) had 30 students. Last year my high school had 80 students from grades 9-12. I went to that same high school for grades 10 and 11, but now for grade 12 I had to go to a new school because my old one closed down.
The new school has around 400 students though, and I know maybe 5 people there. Day 2 finished today, and with a whole new atmosphere I'm not entirely sure how to meet people. Should I go to people or wait for them to come to me? A bunch of them somehow know my name but I haven't a clue who they are. I've already done volleyball tryouts (probably won't make it) and signed up for Grad Council and Student Council.
There are also some girls I've got my eye on, but I haven't really talked to them. What would be a good course of action to take with this? Do I ask them out? Try to get to know them a bit first?
As well, should I add people on Facebook? Should I message first? Should I just wait?
I'm not really sure if adding people I haven't talked to much is creepy or something.

Well adding them on facebook doesn't really make it much easier to get to know them (messaging them too early in chat might be creepy). It'd only really help you to stalk them online.
I can be awkward, too~ but it's a lot better when I just stop being so self-conscious and just kind of be myself. If someone looks at me a little bit oddly, I won't think about it too much. Etc. etc. I think awkward people just think too much and are too self-conscious. Let goo
Yes I am kind of socially awkward. Which is why I'm asking for advice.
And no my family is not at all 'rich'. Private was just the school of choice.
Who starts school on a wensday? da hell? and what school has 30 STUDENTS IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE SCHOOL? That's like 3 students per grade. da hell?

I added people after like the first month on facebook. Most people added me though.
