Yeah, its actually a rather nifty trick, you can pretty much do it for any class. Stand about a character space from the portal and you also avoid all the other attacks as well (for anyone who is wondering)
Didn't realize that you could dodge the hands like that! Nice run, I might actually go try using your method as well next time I go.
