Buccaneer

No funding at all or some funding for a Buccaneer?

I recently created a to-be Buccaneer yesterday in Mardia mainly because of the World Alliance update and the upcoming Their-Pirate revamp. Typically i don't play for power but for skills/fun-ability and i dont usually make pirate-class characters, but because of the revamp coming soon and the pirate moves look pretty awesome, i decided to make one. But i really do now know if i should fund my to-be bucc b/c i don't wanna spend too much time on him (just gonna be my secondary main) nor do i wanna waste any money on him (main is on Bellocan..so i don't see much of a good reason to fund my to-bee bucc). I just want to know if some funding or no funding at all for a Bucc would be a good idea...that means being able to get into LHC and stuff (with people complaining about dmg and stuff, it's kinda impossible) and having decent damage. Usually im not a damage nut, but if it means getting into LHC and training and experiencing the new moves that are available at 4th job, then yes.

some founding makes Buccs really strong, you dont have to go all out in your bucc, but most buccs do, thats why it is hard to find an avg atk already scrolled knuckles and avg pirate equips%str(3-6%);tbh you dont need much founding till level ~130.

@ShadeCaro Oh, of course. Arans and DS hit the cap on their own now if I remember right, and I'm pretty sure Mercedes do anyway(Not that it matters with Ring of Ishtar). There are still some classes who, unless they have Decent SI, enjoy our SI(Explorer Warriors and Mages, I believe Evans, Cannoneers, Corsairs...). While not every class benefits, it can be enough to help you get into non-elite LHC parties as something other than a leech.

Am looking forward to actually being able to deal good damage post-Justice tho. It'll be a welcome change.
Buccaneers benefit the least from funding, until post-Revamp atleast. You'll probably always have sub-par damaged compared to the other members of your party, you'll mostly be wanted for Speed Infusion. You'll probably get into parties fairly easily because of SI, but better parties who have people with Decent SI will have less incentive to let you in since they probably won't benefit from SI, but you'll still be able to get into a fair number of parties.
With newer classes hitting speed cap, Buccaneers are being tossed down even more. I'm mainly dragged along to boss runs for fun, or to Time Leap.

When Justice comes, expect everything to change.

What Tricks said. That and the fact that our gear doesn't require much DEX to wear, we start with 20 base dex [Non UA], and we get PT after the revamp. It's already very easy to get up to 100 DEX with equips, after the Revamp it'll be even more simple.
