Fun

Studio Ghibli fans, enjoy

Studio Ghibli held a 25 years concert back in 2009, but I thought it would be nice to share some of Joe Hisaishi's fantastic works all in one video.

If you haven't seen this concert yet, I highly suggest you do! It is lengthy, hitting just under the 2 hour mark, but it's definitely a good experience.

Comment below with your favorite Studio Ghibli film(s) and your favorite segment from the concert. The list of all the pieces performed are in the video description.

My personal favorite films are Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and Grave of the Fireflies
Favorite segments are Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

@superlold I thought Ponyo was pretty great actually. Though it is intended for a younger audience, I had a lot of fun watching it. I really admired the scenery and music in Ponyo as apposed to the actual plot. YES, I love How's Moving Castle as well, I could watch it over and over again and never get bored of it. It's a close first, but Princess Mononoke always takes the cake.
@prince1020 same here! But that mood is pretty much always present haha
@Jaulian true, but I'd say there isn't anyone that can do better than Mr. Hisaishi when it comes to creating the best and most fitting pieces for Studio Ghibli films.
@Bobofrice From Up on Poppy Hill is actually out already, but only in Japanese as of right now. But if you haven't already, check out the 87 second English-dub clip, it's sounds pretty great!
@DaFish Agreed, I'd say his work in Princess Mononoke is his best. The whole soundtrack is absolutely amazing and so captivating, especially The Legend of Ashi.taka and The Demon God

Love Princess Mononoke and Castle in the Sky. MAN...the worlds in those films are so vast (literary wise) and he could have expanded on those so much T.T
