Any nw peeps out there?
I still enjoy this class and it's my most favorite. I remember how popular this class used to be. Now it's all nl, phantom and db. And people say nw are weak now. I still think they're strong.

I'm currently side-maining mine and compared to Evan it's not as impressive as it used to be (when I mained it originally). In terms of survivability, backstep can't even be compared to teleport and DS doesn't help in most situations. They aren't necesarily weak, it's just that they aren't strong enough to offset peoples reasons to play other thieves with better utility (NL's for example have much better mobbing).
The biggest draw to the original NW was the 50% elemental ignore that all Cygnus Knights had as well as the fact that their Shadow Partner was the only one to cap at your normal damage cap, rather than a ratio. Both of these things got taken away, nerfing their damage on end-game bosses by a lot and significantly reducing their dps potential when hitting max.
In a few patches the Shadow Partner will get reverted back, but in that same patch every other Shadow Partner in the game also gets a normal damage cap rather than a ratio cap, so that will no longer be a unique feature of NW.
They also made it so that jump-attacking is completely necessary for NW to outdamage NL, since NL's Shadow Partner currently caps at 35m rather than NW's 30m. And since jump-attacking for most people requires them to use sticky keys or some other annoying keyboard set-up, it's a very unattractive idea.
I enjoy the class, and I'm having fun 2nd maining it, but I don't think I'd ever want to pour all my funding into it again unless they either a. Improved the function of Jump-Attacking to be more accessible or b. Removed the CD on Backstep (honestly with a 5s CD I almost never use it anymore, it isn't nearly reliable enough)
I think they're one of the best bossers out there. With shadow dodge, even with the 5s cd, and dark sight, they can stay alive longer than almost any other class. The life leech is nice too, but a little on the weak side, but still better than my classes.
My biggest problem is I dc constantly in Haven (only w/ NW), so getting to higher levels will be tough.
