Star Force is basically the new enhancement system. To try star force, you must first completely scroll an item first (either with scrolls and spell trace) and then after when you put it into the hammer square for enhancement, the star force window will show up.

The hammer square icon is your enhancement/scrolling key, you can access it by pressing on that key (forgot which key it was originally) or clicking on the icons on the left.

Spell trace is the same process as star force, ie. the hammer square icon (clean equips will open spell trace window, complete items will open star force window)

@c5548christine: Whenever I relog on those characters I just get a black screen where I can move around the cursor and see my characters' buffs but that's it. I have tried both high & low graphic/effects using the in-game options and it still happens. The Friendstory thing is recent for me, since before I would have no problem switching floors without any broken cutscenes.

@MagicFrappe I know FriendStory won't work unless you have setting on high resolution. What happens when you try to relog? For star force you just click on the hammer icon and put your equip there. I guess read the patch note if you still don't know.

Yeah, actually now that I think about it another one of my characters got stuck at the cutscene for switching floors at the Cygnus High School map and I had to use the Cygnus Recall to get out of there. If restarting doesn't work, what do I do? I have my graphics end effects turned all the way down for Maple.

Restart your computer, I think you have the cutscene glitch. To get star force just enhance everything you have with the new enhancement system that uses mesos,
