What do you think is a problem with Maplestory

And how do you propose it be fixed? Is there anything you think Maple does well? If you were in charge of how things ran, what would you have done different in respect to some of the major changes and additions to Maplestory itself, as well as how the events are run? For example, it's impossible to remove the potential system now -- but how would you change it from the current system, if you had to implement it again?

It's no secret that Maplestory is a very flawed game, but at the same time, there's something about it that makes people come back -- something more than just being purely addictive, anyways.

...I don't think I'm going to get many serious/thoughtful answers here, but I'd still like to see what people think.

The problem with Maple Story are it's players, bad customer service, and lack of GM's interest when it comes to dealing with hackers/botters.
Here's the thing: the problem with harder leveling is that it doesn't necessarily make for a better game. Anyone who remembers old Maplestory (not accounting for nostalgia) knows that harder leveling isn't exactly the most fun thing in the world, and the new experience curve was a welcome change for those that couldn't even dream of getting to 4th job before. Try an old maple pizza slice with more realistic exp ratios, and you'll see what I mean.

The other problem with harder leveling is that although there's a lot of content, much of the content is bunched together, leaving long, sparse stretches where the best way to gain levels is to grind in one location for hours on end. I heavily disagree that this is a good design choice; theme dungeons and party quests are far more enjoyable to play through. However, if people are more focused on leveling a few characters, rather than many, it would result in the lower level co-op content being completely empty due to most people maining a couple higher level characters, UNLESS there is a steady influx of new players (or new classes).

With the Maplestory becoming a solo player game argument, couldn't it just be said that you can easily play through all the content with friends? After all, bossing was initially made for co-op play -- people only started soloing bosses because of how much damage the wealthier players could deal. Nexon even tried to fix this with the Cross World party quest and Hekaton. I personally found the period of time when LHC was still a thing to be one of my favorite periods, because there was a lot of party grinding involved that captured the feel of old Maple party quests.

I agree with the miracle cube dropping idea, though. That would fix many of the "pay2win" issues related to the scarcity of non-NX miracle cubes.
@nexon

please take notes
The main problem is that maplestory is becoming a solo player game, and all the main content (levels 1-200) can be easily rushed through.

About fixing it, make levels 1-200 harder to level again, force people to interact, party quest, etc. The harder leveling made people more invested in one character, due to the time it took to level it. Nowadays everyone just jumps to whatever class is new and stronger.

Another thing is the bossing is mostly solo now, it's impossible for them to make bosses nowadays that everyone can do, because it either:
a) Is too easy for the funded or
b) is too hard for the unfunded..

Prior to potential the difference between the most funded players, and an avg player was less than 3x. Now it can be over 50x...
Only way I can see fixing this without removing potential, is to make cubes a common drop from monsters to equal the playing field a little more.
Obviously the money cost. it's not an issue for them, that's for sure. Though one thing they CAN make a little easier is the gambling. There's way too many gambling features and the gamble is quite high for many things. Alot of time and effort is necessary for very little. But I have to admit that Nexon wasn't trying to make it so that everyone could make profit off this game.

Then there's obviously all the bugs, glitches, hacks, and unnecessary/questionable changes. Why is it they removed the Tyrant Belt and shoes from Magnus? This, I will never understand.
