Has this glitch? happened to anyone else?

When I logged onto the Maple Story website this wonderful morning, I logged on only to find that my main character, in that little box Nexon gave them for the website, was gone and replaced by some level 111 Nova Evan named xevanx300. Well, I sort of panicked there...Did I get hacked? Did the hacker delete all of my characters and replace them with some sorry excuse for a replacement? I became really anxious and unsettled since I'd invested large portions of my time and efforts into my characters and would have been devastated to find that they were "murdered" over-weekdays, I only play weekends. Well, then, I clicked "PLAY" and began waiting for the patch to finish. During the wait, which seemed like eons, I decided to surf the basil forum in search of similar happenings in hopes that this was some big mistake. Apparently there were none. What was this then? I looked up both my character and the evan on the rankings, both were there, and I became real nervous at the update of Nexon not updating the rankings, yet it also helped calm me, since the evan had to have been created before their last update. Goodness, the turmoil of emotions that kept flooding over me! When I was just about on my last straw--curse the patch for being so slow! I was poised to smash my table and scream! (shockwave finally has a use for once)--I looked up to find that my Main character had been returned... What the heck--again? I noticed I had two tabs opened of the website, one being the main page and the other being for a read-up on the update notes. It appeared that my main character changed as I clicked back and forth between the two tabs... *sigh* here I was, worrying over a sort of glitch, both constipated from my refusal to leave before the patch finished and weary from homework overload. My, oh, my, was I irked. =.=

TLDR: My main character on the website was replaced by someone else's character and I freaked out. Ultimately, it turns out I wasn't hacked or anything.
