No, it's not natural selection.

well that's different. If you try to actually help someone and they kill themselves then yeah don't blame yourself, the 'power' depression has on a human being is often much stronger than what any rational human can deliver from the outside. Even professionals can't always help, doesn't mean they failed at all.
Definitely don't blame yourself if someone commits suicide even though you tried to help. ABSOLUTELY feel like a PoS if someone killed themselves after you've been an ass to them lol

Honestly I don't think it's natural selection. Internet isn't natural, it's a power that isn't within a human's control. It's very much omnipotent so it can put unusual amounts of pressure on people. It's also easier to be detached from people in this time and society, making people even more prone to stress and pressure from crap like this.

@fradddd: If you're a trigger you're still part of the reason. You're a tool involved. Without a trigger nothing starts moving in the other person's life. I think telling people not to blame themselves is pretty stupid and only encourages reckless behaviour, assuring people it's okay to bully others or treat them like crap, cause, after all, if something happens it's not their fault at all, right? That's bs. Goddam.

Just sayin' but at the police training thing I went to, they said that nobody should blame themselves if someone commits suicide "because" of them. It's a super personal decision and you have to be sick to go through with it, so if someone "made" you kill yourself, really they were just a trigger and you were gonna kill yourself anyway.

Cyber bullying is inherently artificial due to the outlet for such also being artificial.

Natural selection quite literally has little to nothing to do with this sort of occurrence.

No, because not every person is the same and not every situation is the same.
If everyone got bullied exactly the same way, and everyone was the same, then the answer could be yes.

no, but you have to have major issues to commit suicide from cyber bullying. I'm not saying that they're weak or anything, but something serious has to be going on in/around them.

there's nothing natural about saying negative things on the internet.
