Help on laptops
Hey guys,
Im thinking about getting a new laptop soon and i just need some help choosing one.
Im in Canada btw.
Anyway, Ive been thinking about getting a MacBook due to the fact that its pretty small, light, long lasting battery and the graphics seem to be pretty good. Not to mention the sexy look of MacBooks.
My question is, should i get a MacBook Pro? Is it worth it?
Am i able to get a better laptop for less?
I heard ThinkPads are good. Why? i looked at some specs and they dont seem to be that good
Things i am looking for:
Relatively lightweight as im attending university (my current laptop is almost 6lbs...)
Relatively good size (like around the size of MacBook Pros) (not crazy thick either)
Good to decent specs (so i can play maple from time to time or FPS games if possible)
Good price range (probably $500-700) [yes i know MacBooks are like $1k)
Good battery! Id want one with at least 3+ hours on battery life
And if possible, a laptop that looks nice
And if i do end up getting a MacBook Pro, is it true that i will never be able game again? Is it a hassle to play games on Macs? How well can it handle maple?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance!

Honestly, speaking strictly in terms of specifications, Windows beats out the Mac every single time. Macs are only aesthetically pleasing, and carry that prestigious brand-name; that's why Apple can charge you through the butt and get away with it. People just get Macs because they're hip and trendy, while for the same amount of money, you can get another laptop that would nearly be twice as good.
You cant play MS on mcabook unless you install window or bootcamp

If you want to waste $1,250 for a $600 product, be my guest.

Agreed with this guy. The laptop he suggested is pretty nice. Although I don't think NewEgg ships to Canada...
You cannot play Maple on macs, unless you install Windows on it, but you'll have to buy Windows, so. I'd recommend the Samsung series 7. Best deal on the market by far.
Since when? Bootcamp?

i just love how macs look xP

If you're considering a Mac, you'd be better off with a high-end graphing calculator. YES I WENT THERE
i just read a summary on it and it seem promising. ill look into that.
Thanks for the input!
Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
