People have a natural tendency toward chaos. It's one of the laws of thermodynamics I believe. Everything is moving toward a state of entropy.
It's possible to make it more complicated than it needs to be
It can be complicated if you think about it too much. Sometimes reality checks are kinda depressing and that's just how the world works.
