Return or Rebirth?

Well i have come to end on my NW. I am just not having the fun that i had on my NL but should return to my lvl 201 NL or make a new one and level it up again. (I have 6 lunar dews on my 201 nl)

I guesss i dont mind redoing quest lines. But I making one for a new name basically. and i guess the nostalgia of leveling it up again.

Both are nice to play. NW might have a better 1v1 but NL's 1v1 is not bad either, and besides they got better mobbing skill than NW. It's so much easier to clear maps on a NL. NL is also nice to increase drop rate. Most of my equipments are tradeable, my NL has about 5xxk buffed and NW 203k (only NL is using gollux set). My NW can solo CHT in 15~18 min, Czak 4~5 min (my NL does it faster of course with a higher range). I hope this helps. Good luck with making a decision.

Trust me when I say this.... If you want a first char that is both fun and strong with minimal funds make a Wind Archer

Well i hear mixed opinions on which on you should recommend. I would reccommend NL i believe they are more versatile cause they can train and boss pretty well instead of being heavy bosser like a NW would. I didnt find them boring until about level 201. I got it to 205. But when i look back i just didnt find them apealing to me. imo the only cool thing is the 3 shadow partners and their lvl 170 hyper skill that makes a moon in the back ground. other then that it was meh honestly u should just get both to about 110 and see which one u enjoy more

Edit: Even still if there SP is calculated off their range rather then damage. If you have both hitting cap your only gonna save about a couple minutes on nw. With a NL u will give up about the couple minutes for 20% drop rate from showdown. Thats why i say and even the damage charts it becomes obsolete when the player hit damage cap. but then again not the much people can hit cap.
But given this arguement NL > NW when bossing when you have the funds.

@MrrSnuggles: NW will always be better than NL at bossing, but not because of their bats. From what I understand, their SP damage is calculated from their range, not from their damage (as opposed to NL, our SP damage is calculated from our damage). This means that, if you have a high enough range, your SP can do 50mil lines as a NW, but the SP damage for NL is limited to 35mil since it is calculated from our damage done (So it can never surpass 70% of the damage cap). Theoretically, a NW can do 10 lines of 50mil damage compared to a NL doing 5 lines of 50mil and 5 lines of 35mil in one attack

@CalmVibes: No, don't play NW as your first character. They are extremely expensive to fund
@MrrSnuggles: Ahh i see. Well thanks. What exactly is showdown? And was mobbing ( or at leveling at the least) hard at earlier levels for NW? It plays a huge factor into which I pick haha
Showdown is NL 4th job mobbing skill. I believe its 617% 2 times ( 4 times with shadow partner) and gives 20% exp/drop (30% with hyper skill upgrade) and half effect on bosses. Which is really good for training / farming items. Enemies that are marked by showdown wont have touch damage on you. So when Magnus does his dash attack and you mark him with showdown he will just fly pass you wont take any damage.

For NW they don't get a mob skill until 3rd job unless u count bats as mobing. Their 3rd job skills is kinda similar to avenger back in the day and thats your main mobing skill from 3rd job to 250.

They do have another mob skill but it doesnt do much damage and has a cd of 20 secs. imo its very unreliable to use for training unless u want to get your bats to stack up.

With their lack of mobbing they are compensated with extremely powerful 1v1 / bossing damage. I believe they can to Chaos Crimson Queen with 1m range and 160% boss, but thats if u play everything perfectly i believe.

NL give up a bit of their 1v1 / bossing damage to have far superior mobbing then a NW due to Showdown and their flying stars.

From what people say. NW > NL if u dont have funds or if you want to boss earlier since they have insane 1v1 damage. NL > NW if u have the funds to hit damage cap where dps becomes obsolete, if you are more train/mobbing oriented, and you will get more benefits from showdown.
What wasnt fun about nw? I was thinking of making one of the two so do tell
It just wasnt appealing to me. The different shadow partner and new quintuple throw is interesting and different. The 3 shadow partners and dominion hyper skill is actually really nice but like im just not into it. I guess its cause im so used to the old shadow partner and how NL throw stars. NL gets more utility with showdown since drop rate and exp is increased. and there 1v1 damage isnt that bad since poison does alot. It just NW can boss at an earlier range since they can throw alot of stars and bats do damage.

I just dont get that original feeling that a NL has cause its one of the 5 (or 4 if u disregard pirate since they came later) founding fathers of maplestory.
