Is thorns worth maxing anymore?
I'm finding it severely nerfed compared to Pre-BB. I have it maxed btw.

@trips486:
Hey triiger! its andy from oooPNKooo and evelite xD bl me!
About that, I was just talking about what maxing first, DBs can max all 4th job skills after all... and with full SP reset and enough patience (took me 1 hr of panning and clicking to realocate SP) you can max absolutely everything from 1st to 3rd job leaving double and triple stab at 0.
even though thorns is nerfed, a DB with thorns on will mathmatically do more damage than DB without thorns, with lower level thorns (assuming = gear). Thorns is free dps gain, i really cant think of no reason not to get thorns. However the argument to go FC first is valid, but after FC i most def would go thorns.
@trips486: It stacked in KMS but not GMS.
@huy123 SE and Thorns don't stack.
Thorns always will be useful.
It increases your training speed by alot.
no no, but when you use the SP resets you can only put SP in the respected books or lower skill books, unlike how us DB's made our builds by building upward. This means some skills that are lower can't be maxed.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
I used my skill point reset and I'm just fine.
Just skip triplestab, doublestab, and nimble body in first job.
What would you rather get instead of thorns?
Final cut! It rises all mobbing skills by 25% and practically doubles your dmg for 1/2 of the time you grind. MW is still as good as always and you got to think in Venom now, with higher HP mobs this sustained dmg comes in handy and the number of hits a DB deal mean you have almost a 100% chance of activating it.
Yes but my damage didnt change at all is wat im saying, i still hit the same crit range as b4
how much should it increase my min crit by?
30% iirc.
nope does not stack... tested w/ SE and thorns Crit % does not change, nothing changed at all, it was the same as using SE alone... y dont u just go and try it
The MinCritDmg and MaxCritDmg doesn't show. The Crit Rate doesn't stack but the Crit Damage does.
It's because Thorns affect classes with no passive crit. Now that everybody has passive crit, thorns doesn't do as much. Thats why the reorganization patched was made for some classes. There was balance issues. I actually can't wait till then.
And after Reorganization patch, thorns is actually better and the passive crit is passive so > Thorns. And SE can buff us more.
If your going to use the SP reset be careful with your SP because you cant do the build the same way.
Hmmm what do you mean by that? Am I going to lose SP?
The problem i have isnt with the crit % its with the crit damage... Before BB the crit damage was 250% now its minimum of 30%? It doesn't really feel like a real damage boost by having it on o.o
But is it worth to max if you only train solo or boss solo?
It useful overall in my opinion. More critical chance the better. I mean we only have 5% chance to begin with. Having the 20% extra chance helps. Especially combined with CoH. With CoH it's like a 50% chance critcal ( adding 5% from adventure ring)
Doesn't matter it helps with critcal chance. Now imagine an Aran with SE and thorns or a nl with both it a bm with both. What I'm sayubg is that it's helpful to max it. Reorganization patch ruins it but useful do stance related effect
