Anyone have any idea what book this is?
So about three years ago, I read a chapter in a published book about a boy who calls a home alone teen aged girl telling her he's going to die (i forgot how, I think suicide) once the phone call ended. From what I can remember, her dad left her home alone that night to do something and her mother was either dead, just gone. I think her brother went missing too. If anyone has any idea what the book was please let me know. It had a lot to do with a winter-like theme. The book was primarily aimed at young adult/ adolescents. Thank you.

Suicide is becoming a pretty common theme in coming-of-age young adult novels, so that's going to be an issue. Was it an older novel, or was it more modern?
