Can you use the time limit extensions on the pendent of the spirit?

I knew it was too good to be true.
My buddy extended his time limit. IT DOES NOT WORK. The item says, "Time limit has been extended to Jan xx, 2012, however the effects of this item last until Nov 30, 2011."

According to Nexon's website, anything that can have the time limit extended can be extended up to 365 days. So a 5 day pendent could be a one year pendent.
