How to get more Defense
Hi my merc is currently level 164 atm and his defense is really low both magic and physical
Mobs at SH hit 3-5k against me and is a huge pot drain
He has 2.8k weapon defense and 2.5k magic def.
I was wondering what ways I can get my defense up excluding the hypers
I already have 6 set empress so thats all my defense really is

The more stats you have, the more def and mdef you will get.

I agree with getting decent HB; is there a decent HB neb? Also, make sure to do your normal RA runs. The pot drops are insanely good.

Are you using Watershield?
The defense and magic defense parameters come from different sources.. and usually they build up in-line with your funding/gear, so it's not something you should focus to raise. If pot burn is a concern you'll have to stop using your current playstyle and focus on maintaining 100% invincibility. You'll lose a considerable amount of damage but if you want to reduce potion consumption without investing any further.. this is all I can think of.
Otherwise, make some effort to get Zero's link skill to reduce incoming damage.
