Imp Guide for People who do not know about Imps

Well, now that you're starting to read my guide and wondering what imps are, I will explain them to you.

Imps are little creatures that you feed equipment and monster drops to help them grow. Once they are fully grown, they will give you a reward.

Types of Item Pots

Finding Imps

Imps are found as monster drops. They are semi-rare. They can also be found by harvesting herbs or mining.

Activating Imps

Once you pick up an imp, it is in the Use Tab. To activate the imp double click the imp.

Feeding your Imp

To feed it, open up the item pot tab (default key [Y]) and drag equipment or monster items to the imp. You can only feed your imps by feeding it equipment or monster drops around your level. The item cannot be given as food if you are a much higher level than the previously stated item. The imp has a fullness bar.

http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae56/nunchunk/FullnessBar.jpg

Once the fullness bar is full, the imp will go to sleep for 21 hours.

Leveling up your Imp

The only way to level up your imp is to feed it equipment. The level bar is the bar on top of the closeness bar

http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae56/nunchunk/LevelandCloseness.jpg

Note the fullness bar will go up even more if you feed it equipment with potential. Hint Hint

Max Level

This would take around 7-8 days if you did not use any special items (Look near the bottom). Once your imp reached max level, double click it and you would receive an item in your use tab. Double click that and there is your reward for your item draining creature.
Your imp would become one of these when it is max level, depending on its rewards.

Note that the more closeness your imp has, the better reward you will receive!

Closeness
Closeness increases every time you feed your imp. There is a delay that makes you have to wait 10 minutes for your closeness to increase. The maximum level for closeness is 100.

Special Items

Special items are found from harvesting herbs or mining.

Triangular Rice Ball (Right)
This is placed to the left of your imp and it will feed it 12 times if your imp is hungry.
(This is good if you are going out somewhere and cannot feed it.)

JukeBox (Right)
This is placed to the left of your imp and it will make your imp sleep for 3 more days.
(This is good if you are going out somewhere and you cannot feed it.)
Note that it will only be able to work if your imp is already asleep!

Alarm Clock (Right)
This is placed to the left of your imp and it will wake your imp up after 30 minutes.
Note that your imp would be the next level, so this is very useful.
You can only use one of these per day.

You can only use one of these per day.
http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae56/nunchunk/AlarmClockLeft.jpg

Special Methods to feed your imp

1. I. Use the Pounding Heart (Any) and feed it equipment or monster drops until you need to use another one.
II. Keep doing this until it falls asleep.
III. Use the Alarm Clock(Any) to wake it up.
IV. Keep feeding until it falls asleep.
V. Use the another Alarm Clock (The opposite side of step III.)
VI. Feed it until it falls asleep. It has just skipped 2 levels!
Note, this will only work if your imp is in the middle pot. To make your imp in the middle, drag the imp into the middle pot.

2. I. Using accessory crafting, make useless rings. One, it would help you level your accessory crafting. Two, it would give you some items to feed your imps.
II. Buy a fatigue drink. (300,000 mesos or 1,000,000 mesos. It doesn't matter which.)
III. Mine emerald veins and heartstone veins because they give useful items.

Updates
07/13/11 - Created this guide.
07/13/11 - Added Rewards, made links clickable, added questions, added another method, added Bright Diamond, Very Bright Diamond, Brightest Diamond
rewards.
07/18/11 - Added another method, I posted the link to Alarm Clock (Left).
08/21/11 - Fixed one of the notes.

Questions
Q: What are the rewards?
A: Updated the rewards

Q: Are Imps worth it?
A: IMO they are because of the great rewards. Just farm monster drops so you do not lose anything of value if you get a horrible reward

Q: How can I use Pounding Hearts?
A: It depends on whichever side it says. For example, if it is a Pounding Heart (Right), then it will affect the imp on the right of the pounding heart. Same thing with Pounding Heart (Left). Once you use a Pounding Heart, you have to feed your imp monster drops and equipment.

About how long does the imp take to die after it wakes up?
How long does the the triangular rice ball feed the imp (How long does 12 feedings take?).
Does cancelling a jukebox after 21 hours have passed automatically wake up the imp?

It's very difficult to keep the imp alive on it's 21hr schedule >.>
They should have made it like 22 or 23 hours to wake up with about 4 hours before it starves ><
Nice Guide, i just raised my 8 imp, and i am in my 9 and 10 ones.
just some things to take into consideration:

1.- To put an Imp in the middle, just grab the imp and put in the middle.
2.- If you have at least 10 of the pounding heart left and right, you can raise 2 imps at the same time without problems, because you cant use 2 tools at the same time (clocks, punding hearts, jukebox etc) and most of the time you can only use 1 clock per day.(10 pounding heart = 100 closeness)
3.- I only got Golden shovels and 6,8 herb bags, they are traddeable, but if you open the bag it cant be traded, by the way you can only have 3 herbs bags open, you will not be able to open a fourth.
4.- I raised all, first with low lvl drops from monsters (Jr. fishes and cotton) to get them to 100 closeness, in the next lvls i used drops from the crocs in LHC, they give 20 fullness so with 50 its enough (20*50=1000).
5.- if you are raising 2 imps, try to make them sleep at the same time, and set an countdown timer or alarm (i use the one in my cellphone) to go in and feed them.
6.- The riceballs works, but in this way:

every fixed time(this varies depends on the lvl of the imp) the imp is hungry, it will wait for "you" to feed him, if the fixed time passes again it will eat from the riceball.
Example.
-Every 2 min the imp is hungry (the time that you need to feed him to gain closeness)
-2 min passess the imp is hungry (it will not eat the riceball, it will wait for you, remenber is emergency food)
-2 min passess it will eat the riceball
-2 min passess it will eat the riceball again

remenber the riceball has a limit so 12 * 2, that gives you 24 min.
you can check how much Emergency food is left just hovering the imp with the cursor.
When he eat the emergency food a message will show in the chat bar to: "Pot 11 was hungry and ate emergency food.[Emergency Food Left:2]", the left is for the side where is in the riceball.

I hope this help.
So the riceball doesn't work when your logged off while your imp is hungry?

Just wait a few days because I'm still raising my imp. I'll see if it's tradeable or not. If it is, I will put it in the guide.

i think you should add cichii's image(with her permission of course) because i didnt know that the item pot(sushi, pounding heart, etc) act more like equipment slot rather than me double clicking on the pot to feed the right or left slot of the imp.

1. I think the rice balls feed your imp when you are not online. I think a meal is 20 fullness because everytime I feed my imp monster drops, it gains 20 fullness.

2. When it wakens, it will have 0 fullness. That means that you would have to feed it before it reverts back to the previous stage and starts to become sick.

3. No. I haven't confirmed it yet.

On each of the special items, it says a direction (Left, Right). The special item would apply to the imp that is in the direction of the special item.

Mine/harvest herbs for it. It may take a while to find it. You could always look in the free market for some.

You find them by harvesting ores or herbs.
2 things, you can link to southperry with no problems now, and feeding etc items also increases closeness, while only increasing 20 fullness
Sorry, just being precautious.

My imps died after i went to bed and when i woke up i saw their cold, dead, grey, shriveled up bodies and i felt so horrible. I don't think i'm responsible enough to raise any imps
The only problem with imps is that surprise unscheduled server checks will probably end up killing them if they're not asleep.
You could always use a JukeBox to make them fall asleep and then use an Alarm Clock to wake them up after the server check.
What does it mean when it says "An atrophied item pot's closeness will not increase until it's grown."?
It means that you didn't feed it and it got hungry. When it became hungry, it reverted to the previous level. If you feed it until the fullness bar is full, then it will gain closeness.
