You really got to wonder what kind of amateurs Nexon is employing that causes them to never be able to accurately predict the length of server checks and down time for the game. If you're gonna run a business it's always better to err on the side of caution and predict a longer server check than you think you need. But no, they never learn. I don't see the benefit of manual patching other than getting a spot in the FM, which now that people use Owls and (that one site that is a blacklisted word) really doesn't matter anymore. So with the only good thing gone, you are at risk of corrupting your game when Nexon decides to add something to the patch or change something later on, which they do a lot from my experience with the Manual Patcher. Never had the luck of instantly getting in the game so might as well wait and then download the real patch for 10 minutes.
[Update] The maintenance has been extended. Please check back for updates.

I never do the manual patcher. I've tried maybe 10 times since 2005 and honestly every single time I tried it...when I go to start the game, one of the files ends up corrupting and without fail...every friggin time I've done the manual patcher...I end up having to delete the game and redownload it all over again. Which really sucks when you need a spot for your mushie.
