Is Elsword a good game?

So I am getting really bored of MS and am deciding to pick up a new game. I stumbled across Elsword which looked pretty cool and had nice graphics and animations. Looking further in, it seems as though it isn't pay2win at all either which is something I find important. Has anyone played this game before? Can you give me a quick review or opinion about the game?

On a side note: any other games similar to Elsword or Maplestory that I could enjoy without spending too much cash on it? Like old Maplestory where aesthetics were the main things you could buy with real life money.

El Sword is kind of slow when it comes to combo-ing. I guess it is fun with friends and the story to each character is pretty cool but I got bored of the game faster than Maple.

Someone said DFO is coming back, but the better thing about it is that it isn't a nexon game!
I know right? I don't know why I spent so much on Maplestory. Now that I look back on it, it is a pretty crappy game concept. Try Elsword, it looks very nice. I heard they have lots of events too that give free items and stuff. End game weaponry is also available through dungeoning which means you don't need to pay for damage. Only in-balance I have heard is that certain characters need skill slots and that people who have spent a good amount of money on the game are a little stronger in PVP than others but not to a large extent. I think it's still possible to win PvP even against cash spenders as long as you have a good skill set on the game.
that games pvp is skill based

I played Elsword for the exact same reason that TS has; trying to find a game that's less pay-to-win.

Even though Elsword is more based on individual skill, you will find yourself outclassed by people who do spend a lot money on those cash-only costumes, which you can equip over your normal armor and weapons (see them as Premium Surprise Boxes, but the items have better stats than regular costumes that you can buy from their cash shop), or perfect their weapon with.

Also, when you make one character, you really have to dedicate playing that character. Every cash item you will buy will be bound to that character. There's no way of sharing cash items. And even regular armor usually isn't tradable (at least anything that's fairly good).

Last, but not least, you will also need to farm dungeons for days to get your endgame items. I'm talking about a few weeks, assuming you don't miss a single day.

Yes. Elsword has its ups and downs, if you want a great mmo, I recommend Aion online. The NA server is run by NC soft, a Korean company and it's free to play and not even close to pay to win as well. It's a great game ^^ if you do play hit me up~

It's an alright game.
NA sucks though.
If you get your hands on a KR account, then play the korean one.
The NA version is full of laggy players and stuff.

Sup man. You're that admin from DFOSource right?

I'm suffering from withdrawals from that Beta. It hurts. Need my DFO back.

Another great 2D game is Dungeon Fighter Online. But it's down atm. Should be back up in a few month or so. I'd say that is probably the best F2P game I've ever played- if that says something.
My new best friend. ;w;

Well, either Maplestory was good enough for you to spend money on or you were a sucker in the past. Nothing wrong with that though, you help the game keep running

If you love Moba games but want a 2D one like MapleStory, I suggest Awesomenauts.
I too am interested in this. I have been trying to find a game similar to Maplestory but with a more lively community and more beginner/noob-friendly/less pay2win for a while now as well.
Want Maplestory aesthetics but don't want to spend cash? Go play a Pizza Slice.

It's pretty fun with friends. Some classes require you to pay for full utility. I.e. an extra 4 skill slots.

It was really repetitive for me after a while. I dropped it after a couple of months or so.
