Wacom Bamboo Tablet pen wont work properly?

I have the Wacom Bamboo Splash tablet and the pen just isn't working right. When I do strokes on paint tools sai, either a dot or nothing shows up. It'll only make a line if I go slowly, and even then, it doesn't give the faded lines effect. And when I open Bamboo Dock and try to "draw to open", nothing happens, even when I just use my mouse. I had this problem before, but it started working again, and now I'm back to it not working. halp guise.

Note: I do believe that this is more suited under the tech section, but I think you artists would be more knowledgeable when it comes to tablets.

I got it to work! All I did was uninstall it then reinstall it.
Thanks for your responses

@Rationale: baby i know.

OT: removing preferences is a pain like having to click in all your 1-2-3-4th job skills if you have any. Pretty much setting up all your keys/shortcuts/calibrations all over again.
but really who installs using the cd neways? those just add so much junk applications that aren't useful//.end.//

You installed all the proper drivers and whatnot, right?
I think this might be a Pen Pressure issue. You'll need to get into Bamboo Dock to change your Tablet's settings, so try redownloading the Dock from their website. Either that or try opening it using your stylus (I'm just guessing on that one, it always works with the mouse for me).
I was having that "Draw to open" issue a while ago, too. I didn't fix it so I don't 100% know a solution (my computer destroyed itself and I had to format, that's the only reason it's working now)

My Bamboo Capture's pen was malfunctioning once. I removed all user preferences and it worked fine again.
maybe it is in an unsupported usb 3.0 port? try changing

update tabet drivers via wacom webpage (find your model and stuffs)

there's a little button under advanced settings of a brush in sai called the "size" button if you unclick it then pressure sensitivity turns off and your line is always the same diameter

somebody may have played with what starts up with your computer and turned off the tablet driver (turn it back on in msconfig)

somebody may have played with Services and shut off the tablet stuff (turn it back on)
hai bootang.

OT: here are methods to resolving your problem.
1.Restart the computer.
2. Restart the computer.
3. When all fails, Restart the computer.

On a serious note, uninstalling + resinstalling + restarting works. Did i mention downloading updated drivers?
On a side note, uninstall your printer/scanner drivers (things you installed with a cd that don't do anything. Those just interfere with wacom products till an update comes by.
