Just a couple of questions about the events going on
This is the first event since I've returned to the game (been a few years) and I'm a little confused & curious about a few of things. I'm hoping someone could please help by answering these questions:
> Cake vs Pie : In the past (I have a screen up of my very first pie vs cake) there used to be a vendor and in the game pie or cake pieces dropped and you handed these in for cake or pie things, similar to the maple leaf deal however all I'm seeing is buff rewards being spammed on the screen, is Cake vs Pie just a buff reward event now? Is there a vendor at all? Also there used to be a Cake world you ported to and worked your way up the levels, like monster park, which rewarded some fun things, does that exist anymore or are the cake and pie mobs just lose in the world now? Does the giant cake or Pie bosses spawn in cities anymore? .. sorry a few questions, just so different
> Anniversary boxes: Once upon a time anniversary themed equips and weapon dropped like candy from boxes along with the generic stuff (elixirs for example) however after opening close to 200 boxes not a single equip or weapon has dropped, are freebie anniversary equips/weps a thing of the past and the only way to get anniversary themed equips from the vendor now? Just curious if I should just focus more on leveling my Kaiser for the color coupons and less on farming boxes (was farming them to share weapons/equips around my account.)

The oh other way to get event equips is if you are lucky enough to obtain an armor box as one of your three items from the showers that appear after the festival meter has been filled. Typically only 4-5 drop per shower, and everyone seems to go for them.
@paynther: Ahh! Thanks for the information, ill probably head over there ASAP Even if we're on the same server I hardly see you in game anyways haha
I've seen a couple of Ikuras here and there but havent found a tonne of them in a certain area.. (plus the fact that most hunting grounds are filled with either botters or the general player base)
If i do indeed find a large quantity with a minority of people ill let you know
@GlobalKorean: *fingers crossed* ! You're on the same server as me, plenty of cake and pies around cloud park Orbis. If you don't see one in park 1 or 2 just cc until you hit them.
... now if only I could bump into some Ikuras that would be ace heh
@paynther : Glad that you found something from the cake and pie mobs Havent been successful myself so I just focused on the event itself.
Things might change though, as Maplestory GM's are currently rethinking about the issue of coins and the whole economy of the leaves itself. They may or may not bring back the option of gaining leaves from the boxes to reduce the economical side of coins.. (but again, dont quote me on this)

I just found a strip of map which had cake mob, pie mob, cake mob, pie mob and they were there every CC so I just landed the cake shoulders so not feeling like I'm missing out on that event now too much. As for the boxes I ended up using my spider and a drop coupon I had on me and after hundreds of boxes about 80% was spell traces, then coins, elixirs and letters.... I didn't know there was a coin cap, I've opened a fair few boxes and haven't seen a limit set but TBH haven't been paying attention. I haven't found any special equip box nor has any dropped from boxes so looks like vendor only.
no leaves in boxes is a shame.
@paynther : I'm not 100% sure on this but dont quote me if im wrong.. unlike the past Anniversary boxes where items such as the "white" equips which were for the lvl70 and "black" equips for lvl100 dont spawn at all (they seem to be non-existent this year, which is a pretty bad, since I dont want to farm leaves all day for my other characters...)
iirc you cant even get leaves from the boxes
The only option atm i guess is getting the daily 50 coins from boxes and using leaves to convert them into coins.. then further trading them for the corresponding items you want..

Actually it's not. Only a very generalized explanation that makes sense to those who have gone through similar events and the homepage never goes deep into detail as to what to expect, even in the past they never spoke about the cake world for example. Since it's changed completely (there is a event hall now where the coin vendors are, the teleport rock to the mushroom event hall) I'm just finding it a bit overwhelming is all since the screen is being spammed by this cake vs pie without really knowing if I should be doing anything about it, the only information available is a very generalized explanation really aimed for those who know what the deal is because they're experienced that version of event before. As for the other threads the only answer they are getting is 'it's all on the homepage' lol. Would just be nice to have some sort of direction is all since there are no cake bosses or pie lords in the towns so I don't know where to go to ask these things.... will figure it out I guess o.o
As for the boxes looks like it's just the generic drops, I'll work on my Kaiser.

I think most things will be in the shop, otherwise the boxes may have them at a lower rate [not confirmed].
regarding the cake VS pie:
The cakes and pies spawn in different maps across the world, and it's simply a game of which group kills the most.
just looking at the gauge tells you everything you need to know.
