Yeah, it gets destroyed.
Yep, the item is destroyed. It's somewhere in the patch notes.

Yes, the item whose stats are transposed over is destroyed
Yes* Yes it shall be destroyed. If the Transposition is successful, you will lose your material equip (in this case, Emp weapon)
