Never knew arans were so complicated. I thought u guys just spun, spun,spun and spammed that tiger swipe move.
Simple BM here.
Dude.....every class is complicated.
Thats why MapleStory is a fun game, its like pokemon, simple to pick up and play but theres this
huuuge elaborate compound as to how you can play the game. <3
@Taerwyn: You still need to make the important decision of which to spend your recharge on, every time you jump into the fray.
E.g. At Ani, at the very start you would use Recharge (150 combo) and have the choice of Barrier or Drain. Seeing as there's a potion cooldown, it's better in this case to use Drain.
At Horntail, where you are able to pot freely, your party may be relying on a Barrier more than you rely on Drain -- so right off the bat you may want to use Recharge then Barrier.
Thankfully, Barrier can't be dispelled (IIRC), so we can more easily plan ahead.
@Senkujin :
I agree this change may take some getting used to, and hopefully it won't be too annoying casting Barrier after climbing up a ladder. But I believe that we will learn not to use it accidentally, and the versatility this change brings will still be useful.
I think I'm the only Aran that doesn't have a problem with the current setup. I knew exactly what I was doing and how I was going to plan my moves. in fact, I'm upset with how it's going to be. This just means that there are going to be more instances where I accidentally cast an unwanted skill. I don't like this.
Not many Arans were asking for this change, but secretly we all wished for it P:
HECK YES! I just found out the hard way just putting 1 point into Barrier with recharge maxed. Big mistake This is an awesome change!
But but but...I like my 2500 combo count...
We all like to acquire and keep things, but we need to learn to let go!
You're not just hurting yourself, you're hurting the people around you.
@DarkWolf6545: Try using your combos earlier and don't hoard them?
Once they make it so that combo moves only take the required combo amount, I might start an Aran again. I never liked having to give up all of my combos for one attack... >.>
IIRC polar bears have legs.
^ POLAR BEAR!
Is there even an attack (any class) with a tiger animation? I don't remember.
Hero's Shout.

@mrlazo03 ;
Combo Drain, 2nd job skill, requires 30 combo and the keystroke to activate it was down-down-attack.
Combo Barrier, 4th job skill, requires 150 combo and the keystroke to activate it was down-down-attack, the same as Drain.
Both buffs are important in helping an Aran survive, especially around dangerous mobs and bosses.
Thus, Arans were forced to choose between skill builds to give them access to either Barrier or Drain. Max Recharge gives 150 combo, while 19/20 Recharge gives 145 combo. Arans had to pick between max Recharge (for easy access to Barrier) or unmaxed Recharge (for easy access to Drain, at a slight cooldown and cost penalty).
UNTIL NOW.
Now Arans can max Recharge and have easy access (i.e. castable without needing to first engage mobs) to Barrier or Drain, at their choice depending on the situation. Arans no longer have to sacrifice a few seconds cooldown on Recharge (and increased HP cost) in order to have easy access to Drain.
Barrier is a lategame skill, and this change will only really affect the skill build of Arans who are (or who plan to be) level 150+.
I've never gotten my aran to 3rd job,watdoes tis do
Tell your friends! This knowledge must spread before people spend their SP.
ohdam nice o_O
