im not sure what you mean since anvils are for appearance only, but
if you want to get the look of an item on that item you can cover it. if you reanvil the covered item on to a different item it will count as what it looks like
ex. fafnir dag on an all job dag. then take the all job and anvil it to a reverse and youll get the look of the fafnir
