Worth coming back?

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic area, I haven't played for around 2 years. However, my question is simple: Is it worth coming back (to Scania) after 2 years of not playing? I have no idea whats happening in maple right now, and since it's summer, I'd suspect servers are more active than in other seasons obviously. Basically, is there fun to still be had? Currently, I think I'm a 202 shadower with decent range.

@ZGamer: If you consider AP/SP resets to be "essentials", then it may be time to start checking guides before making your characters X__X It's practically impossible to mess up characters nowadays as long as you pay attention - most skills will tell you if you need them for another skill in the next job level. That, and all classes (except Xenon) have a straight-shot with their given stat now, so no more fiddling with "secondary" stats just so you can equip the next tier items.

Anyhow, considering the amount of stuff that MS dumps on its players now compared to back when I started in 06', it's practically a dam bursting. Compared to other games, however: yes, it isn't much at all. Not even compared to some of Nexon's other games (Dragon Nest practically dumps useful cash stuff and bonuses onto the player as they level up, though its best to save that for later levels, like the shop coupons and such, where you actually have reasons to use them). But compared to nothing at all, its an improvement. Maybe not enough, but at least it's something *shrugs*

As for Sengoku, since it and Red Leaf High have both become recurring events, the smart player would save coins from the last event if they really want one of those totems. And I agree that it's basically a money sink, but so are gachapon tickets, randomized cash items (which THANKFULLY seem to be phasing out; those were the worst of the bunch =-=;; ), and the like. But I don't think Nexon is going to change their ways anytime soon, so at least they could curb the habit a little to meet players half-way.
And the NX train is less of a pay-to-win situation than it was in the past, especially with the new Maple Rewards program.
Personally I find this a little difficult to believe. If anything it feels like the cash shop has become even more P2W - reward points don't apply to everything in the CS (unlike loyalty programs in other MMOs, and omnibits in WildStar), and some cursory window-shopping reveals a number of "essentials", such as AP/SP resets, that aren't offered in the rewards section. The whole Sengoku High event is also a horrible offender; you can't make 1000 coins, much less 3000, unless you buy extra passes via NX (unless you happened to have leftover coins from the previous Sengoku High). Perhaps I'm just spoiled by games like Warframe and Firefall, but if the lack of a mid-game playerbase doesn't chase me off, Nexon's sleazy business practices will.

@OP: If you're already end-game, you'll likely find a lot more things to do in MS. Starting a new character might be something of a chore, though. I can say with a reasonable degree of confidence that low- to mid-game content is just about dead; it's a pain to find even a second person for an easy Balrog run during anything that isn't peak hours. You're in Scania, though, so perhaps you'll run into more than just bots while training a new alt.

I wanted to coldturkey it but I still talk to people on this game. I'm just planning on selling my stuff and being on for the sake of being with friends.
Content wise, it's not bad. Every game I've played is repetitive in nature. Game mechanics can only be so complex. It's still pretty fun up until a certain point. Bossing was great for me, but I'm sick of it now. I'm not willing to go for Lotus or Dorothy, so I'd say I've done every boss that I'm interested in. Killing CRA / Hmag was pretty fun the first fifty times or so cause there's actually some sort of mechanics to it. If that kind of stuff interests you, i'd definitely say go for funding as well. As for the game as a whole, I think it's worth coming back if youre interested in talking with people. There's not necessarily a lot to do with them besides talking, but It's like a social spot.

You have to tell us the reason you quit to begin with...

If you have +10 scrolls, that was from last summer. It seems as though you may believe you've been away longer than you actually have. Besides revamp of resistance classes from that time to now, not much has changed significantly in the past year. Cubes can be bought / crafted / drops from mysterious veins & bosses as it's always been [for many years now]. Safety scrolls can be purchased through CS so they really shouldn't be much of a problem.

Note: Play for personal goals, don't compare the game to its previous state, don't compare yourself to other people and you'll have a better time.

@powermage22 Pre bb was a never ending grindfest where there was nothing else to do. Even though it's less rewarding now, at least there's a bunch of stuff to do, in less time too thanks to the removal of several inconveniences. MS2 will appeal to a completely different audience.

@ImMadKawaii YES PLEASE.

@Pube At work atm, I'll be home in 2 hours. ^_^

Don't come back, the game isn't any better. It'll never be as good as it was Pre-BB. Just wait for MS2

I've been on and off, leveling and damage is not worth it anymore, its a huge hassle with all the junk stats they keep trying to add on everything. At a certain point you'll be able to kill every single boss in 1 minute/ do the same mindless grinding for hours and hours, its so repetitive and boring. I've found much more enjoyment talking and hanging out with people like you're suppose to be doing on an online game.

I took a 4-year hiatus and came back and I don't really mind the changes.

@Pube: Up to you. Crafting is much easier, as is scrolling. Most all classes have a chance to get to 200 without too much fuss or muss, and are fairly balanced out (all classes have some boss att%, attk%, PDR%, etc, built into their systems). And the NX train is less of a pay-to-win situation than it was in the past, especially with the new Maple Rewards program.

However, if one of your favorite classes got nerfed particularly bad, or the overall lower population drives you to boredom, then you might not want to come back.

Just jump back in and see. There's no harm in looking, though staying might cost ya <3 (just kidding, honest!)
Not necessarily liars. Just traditionalist. They're always the last to accept any changes

Honestly, I don't think the game has been better. Sure there's still hackers and glitches around, but for the most part they're harmless. Plus, the game has been simplified yet still remains something of a challenge.

But if you want more of the wildly-imbalanced classes and "hardcore" grinding like it was early on ('05~'08) then you'll never really be satisfied with any changes, because Nexon is mostly aiming to make the game "more accessible" and "balanced". Which is great for lazy people (like me) b/c that means more stuff for less effort
So would you recommend I come back or nah?

Yea I think so. I quit bout a year ago along with selling all my gear but I recently came. I joined a nice small guild and have a blast daily just talking to them and bossing. So yea I think it's worth it if you have the time.
