If you do die, you have skills that help you regenerate power supply faster, 1 skill that gives 10 supply with a 30 second cooldown and a hyper that refills and gives infinite supply for 10 seconds. As far as gearing goes, it isn't too hard to get gear for your Xenon, although the big hype is %allstat you can just favor 1 stat over the other after you reach 330 stats in your 3 main stats. I would say the major downside though is the lagg from the beam dance spam against a large group of mobs that is constantly spawning, such as DIMpq.

Even without %allstats, just using selfmade and selfobtained items, such as Silent Crusade accessory set, Evo Rings, star powered items (Easy to make star powered level 40 theif top+bottom) can make you pretty strong compared to other jobs without funding. Great for unfunded players that still like to see bigish numbers

Xenons have a lot of buffs and it's kind of annoying when you die to a boss and you lose all of your supply so you can't fully rebuff afterwards. Although, I really like their skills and they are pretty flashy. I'm maining one atm. Also, like above said, %allstats is really expensive and you don't get as high of a percentage from potentials like you can with pure stats.

negative is that its hard to get % all stat and its expensive in fm
pro is that its pretty good at mobbing and bossing with decent funds to a certain point

I currently play a xenon. One definite plus is that the new enhancement system gives basically all stats.=]
