Help finding a good movie

I'm looking for a movie thats about life. The movie has to make me sad or happy, and it has to make me think

(It's for my girlfriend.. She keeps saying no to the movies I find)

Eg, The perks of being a wallflower, Flipped, Pursuit of happiness, it's kind of a funny story

This is soooooo confusing >.<

A good one would be Breakfast at Tiffany's. It's an old 60's movie, but the end of the film is rewarding. It's kinda funny too.
If you have netflix, it's on there.
Okay then I'm gonna assume life means anything.

The Shawshank Redemption
Life Is Beautiful
City of God
Boyz N the Hood
The Dark Knight trilogy
Pulp Fiction
Idk what she means by life, but I'm guessing its anything that's not action,war,sci-if,crime, and mystery
