Sending flowers?

When is it appropriate to send flowers to say your girlfriend?
Is it appropriate to send them while she's at work?
Does it have to be a basket or can it be a bouquet?
What would you send along with it? A note? A card?

Wanting to send my girlfriend flowers but I'm not sure as to whether it's appropriate or not. She likes orchids, so would it be okay to send her those?
P.S she works cash at the front in the movies if that changes anything.

Thanks for the help! Much needed.

Maybe that depends on the movies showing at the time...
Sending flowers is always "appropriate", but you have to be practical too.
Having flowers delivered to a situation like a ticket booth or high pressure area like ticket sales counter might be distracting and cause her problems with management.
If she had a private area like a desk or cubicle (or office) there'd be no problem, but in this situation it might be best to ask her first if it would be OK, just to avoid causing her any troubles.
She sells tickets at a movie theatre? Does the theatre at which she works have some sort of glass between her and the customer? If so, giving her the flowers at work may be awkward. I'd probably just save them for when she's not working. But I don't think girls would ever not want flowers -- they eat that stuff up like gossip and cute bunnies.
I wouldn't deliver them to her at work. You should do it in person. Surprise her. Maybe tell her you're going to hang out with friends, then instead you show up at her doorstep.

How cute would that be? Or maybe I'm wrong. You tell me
Oops yeah that's what i meant, i'd be handing them to her

Most of the time its okay, just don't do it at a funeral.

I've been sent to deliver flowers to girls at work.

Does it have to be a basket or can it be a bouquet?
Basket, Vase, anything. Just don't send a wreath.

What would you send along with it? A note? A card?
A note is usually attached.
