Turtle salmonella disease
Supposedly, the salmonella turtle disease has began popping up and it's been harmful to kids. It's created from the poo that the turtles secrete, the green poo. I have a turtle and it's been with me ever since I was in 1st grade. I'm in 12th grade now and my dad wants to throw it away.. Obviously I'm opposed to his decision but he's determined to get rid of it
I just don't know if I should care for this or not; I'm a teen but my father still says it's dangerous to have it..

What do you turtle owners think about this? Will you get rid of your pet turtles?
You've had the turtle for 11 years.
If the crap hasn't done anything to you for that long, there is no reason for it to do anything now.
That's what I told him but his response is "That's because we didn't know about it then, you were lucky."
I had so much dispassion when he said that ._.
I managed to make him not toss the turtle for today, but he says when I'm not around to stop him, he's going to do it. </3
and all this because he read it on a newspaper at work.
I'm keeping my turtle. o3o

I believe that it's sea turtles. Not exactly sure about the others.
