My dad let my dog die and did nothing about it

I knew my Dad hated that dog but I never knew he would let it die. We gave him clearly simple instructions on how to take care of her, she has a very sensitive stomach and my doctor said if she eats certain foods on the list we need to take her in asap. We don't know what happen but apparently my dad went out while I was on vacation and "left enough food" and came home to vomit on the floor and my dog in the corner with her hair shed all over the place. He didn't want to take her into the vet cause he said every animals has it's time and this was hers. I can't even look at my dad right now, he's a sicko and once I move out I won't be looking back.

This is so sad to hear... the only time my dog gets taken for a walk is when I'm home on vacation. My parents never really find the time to do much else other than feed her and clean up after her. It's sad because when she came into our home we were all a big happy family and she was always chipper. Then I moved away to college/job and since I was the one she was attached to the most, she got kind of down. My lil bro just graduated high school & might be leaving for college soon. Then she won't have anybody but my two parents and they're not exactly spring chickens. So many family deaths are waiting right around the corner for me. First I know my dog will go in the next few years. Then perhaps my grandmother after that. Then my parents in the next few decades.Ugh... so daunting to know how alone I'll be. That's why we have to enjoy life with the ones we love while we can. It goes by faster than you'll know.

Man, if something did happen to my dog... I'd be inconsolable. So, I'm not sure there's anything I or anyone else could say to help ease the pain. With the emotional wound so fresh, sometimes the best thing to do is to distract yourself by becoming busy with something else. Or to channel your feelings into a project that could be done in the lost one's memory. Perhaps taking charge of an initiative to raise awareness about sensitive digestive systems of pets. You would certainly have every ounce of passion necessary to commit to such a project.

You usually don't leave animals with people who clearly hate said animal.
But my condolences, nonetheless.
Goodness, how long did he leave that your dog was able to shed so much hair?
I am sorry for your loss though, I'd cry like crazy if my dog died suddenly like that.
He said he went on a camping trip and left longer than expected.

Sorry about your dog dieing and you dad being an a-hole
I have a similar thing with my dog and dad. My dad brought in my dog when it was a puppy and everyone loved it. As it got older nobody really took care of it, we just fed and and gave it water. I started to feel bad and began to walk it and play with it, But since we kept it in the backyard and my dad always hangs out there; hed mess up my dads garden or just annoy him. Hes tried to let my dog escape by leaving the gate open but he knows his way back after all those walks. I confronted him about it too and my mom told him to stop to. He doesnt hate my dog as much anymore but if he runs away or something, the first Im going to blame is my dad.
