I've tried with a Pally. If a skill is a pre-requisite for another, I has to be level 20 without other buffs. So you actually need the skill to be maxed out. Combat orders, Empress Set, Leafre Set etc. don't seem to work.

One SP is nothing. Just use a 4th job sp to max it, and wait for a reset. Its definitely not worth it to remake.

I'm on the same boat as you buddy after i got a SP reset today, i messed up real bad while redoing it </3

currently i'm trying to earn enough nx through offers and surveys. Thankfully it was a 2nd job skill (that becomes important later on)

Whether you remake a character, earn nx through offers & surveys, or wait for a sp reset, you'll have to be patience either way.

honestly, I wouldn't go through the troubles of making another one. Your skill is one level away from being maxed so the dmg difference shouldn't be significant. There are bound to be events in the near future that will give out sp/ap resets.
