Talk about tattoos

So.. I'm getting a tattoo for my birthday, maybe an inch on the bottom of my left wrist, of an anchor. I'm a little worried about the pain, but at the same time very excited.

Do you have a tattoo? Explain it! Other tattoo ideas/suggestions for me?

Advice for a first time tattooer? What was your experience like getting it?

Thanks!
You can cover it easily if you have make-up available.

Something like this, could be covered like that.
I want a tattoo of a dolphin fighting a zeh-bra. :v

In all seriousness though, I'm saving up some money to spend a few thousand dollars on a tattoo. It's permanent.. I'm not going to skimp on costs.

also getting one will make me feel like this birthday is a step up in my age, and pride.
Good to know you're not getting it cause you "felt like it"

Get it somewhere you can cover easily
well.. i wanted it to be right there, so ill always see it. its for remembrance i wouldn't get it to hide it.. i cant think of anywhere else id want it, my manager said it was fine.. its not big either even if i get another job i doubt it will be a problem. i know a lot of people with tattoos here that still get employed
Of course it's not a huge problem, the driving forces behind getting a job are still resume, direct personality, and body language. But remember, while everyone accepts not seeing a tattoo on you, not everyone accepts seeing a tattoo. Certain employers may be more likely to accept tattoos more than others. That's just how the world works... I really love tattoos (only the truly meaningful imageries), so don't get me wrong, but it's really just that disappointing.
You should definitely get it if it means something to you, but get it somewhere that's not too noticeable when wearing long sleeves. As annoying as it is, it still remains a widely known fact that a huge percentage of employers or customers look down upon tattoos, thinking that they're not for emotional or symbolic reasons, but to look cool or to appeal to a certain demographic of individuals.

Just don't get it on your forearm, or most people will just relate you to Popeye.

@sceneangelx: Seems legit, going to add a text with it ?
just the anchor. i guess if i feel like adding onto it ill do that later depending on the pain, I like to keep things simple. i might even add on color later, its going to be solid black exactly like this
looks like we have a top answer as to my statement. go for it but have to where employers wont see it
i already talked to my manager about it, because my coworker is also getting one too. he said we can just wear a bracelet since it isnt that big
