Idea Revamped Pets

As of right now pets are able to lvl up to 30 but only to be able to perform certain commands
With this revamp, all pets will be able to attack alongside their master with the new Pet SP system
The range of the pet is based on the player's range and will automatically attack when the pet comes into hit box range of the enemy while not causing aggro
Also with each 10th monster killed by the pet dealing the final blow, the pet will receive +2 closeness

Skills: (List of skills will be based on shark pet for the example)

Bite/Tackle/Scratch (based on the pet used) Unlocked lv1
Type: Dark
lv1: 55%
lv10: 100%

Sharpen Fangs Unlocked lv5
Passive
Lv1: +1 ATT/MATT
Lv5: +5 ATT/MATT

Lunge Unlocked Lv15
Ice
Lv1:50%x2 Ignore 5% Def
Lv10:100%x2 Ignore 15% Def

Crunch Unlocked Lv20
Passive
Upgrades Bite
Lv1: 110%
Lv5: 150%

Roar Unlocked lv30
Stackable Self Buff
Lv1: +20 ATT/MATT +200 DEF/MDEF

This feature will automatically be added to all pets and won't need a CS item to use this system even though thats what probably will happen

Edit: A new NPC is added which sells 90 day and perm pets at 50m * amount of nx ex. 2600nx pet is worth 130m in shop
Perm pets are in rotation depending on when they are avaliable in the Cash Shop
This will allow everyone to use this new system and will save the time to buy nx to get a pet of choice

I long for the day they sell an item that makes a pet permanent without having to buy the Water of Life every time you want to revive it (Yes, I have a permanent tiger and shark but I really love my toucan).

I can barely get my pet to 20... o.o
Only at 16 atm. 2 closeness per battle ain't that much xD.

Well the passive boosts can be def, mdef, spd, jump and hp/mp instead to make the skills less OP

I agree, well if this was added I assume animations will be made for these skills to give the pets more variety

Design an entirely new security system for Nexon to go along with it and I'm all for it.
What about an Pet Seller, who sells 90 day pets at 50m * the amount of nx the pet is worth ex. 2600 nx pet is worth 130m in shop
and have perm pets be added alongside when they are made perm in the CS
That could also work.
If permanent or available pets were made to be available free (albeit with a longer quest chain to make you actually work for it), I would be totally fine with this idea. I just think how pets work right now is completely unbalanced for people who don't have money to spend.

So that could possibly be a part of your pet revamp as well.

Well I forgot about the Auto Buff item they added to pets, didn't think that was needed.
Main reason I wanted this, was I wanted a tamed monster system like an upgraded familiar which you can train to fight alongside you, but have it revolved around pets.
Also looking at your previous comment you are right about it making NX users have a bigger gap towards those who don't spend NX.

How about making the snail pet perm instead of timed so all players can enjoy the benefits
Honestly, pets have enough functionality as it is. Skills are unnecessary.
Good, let's give NX users MORE ways to buff up their damage! Surely this will balance the game more!
Edit: But it could work out. MAJOR changes would need to happen to the pet system though, including a way to get them without NX.

I wish I can leave my pet to a pet school so it can behave to the point where I can command my pet, "Sic' em boy!"

Kinda, but they attack on their own with the attacks being randomized except the buff which is around 5-10% chance of being activated and after use is on a 2 min. cooldown

Used attacks from pokemon as they were the first attacks to come to me

Isn't this sort of like Pokemon, except you don't have to mash the A button.
