I hope people know that the use of references isn't "cheating," and that you don't need to cite references in a drawing. Sharing your inspiration is mostly due to appreciation of other artists (for example, I often cite Todd Lockwood and Kekai Kotaki) and wanting more people to have insight on your work. Most people use references when working, in the interest of accuracy and creating quality work. We use references for color, for brush strokes, for anatomy, for poses and perspective and everything else. I have a reference folder myself that I'll pull maybe twenty or thirty images from at a time for reference, because the more you look at while working, the more ideas can flow in and you get much more influence, helping you improve your craft and find you own path. And everyone does this-- everyone serious about art, at least. If every professional had to list their references, there'd be a huge list of images to each work, and most of them are for very small attributes (ex. I like how this bright gold hits the character's eye and warms it up, I want to reference this and incorporate a light source for something similar).
In short, all this arguing over using references is ridiculous.
@MidnightDark As an artist, people should be respectful of their peers. If someone actively used references in order to create a pose or drawing, then those references should be named. Can a person get away with not mentioning any references? Yes. Can you make a pose that is exactly the same as someone else's pose, without using that person as a reference? Yes. In the end, it's all about how people use references and how people respect the references they use.
Also, a few things to deter your statement: 1) I do not have proof, which is why I asked him, and said "if you used references." 2) As a matter of fact, in all official submissions, you need to give credit to quotes that you used, and where you got them. Of course it's not possible to give credits to quotes that you didn't know about before. However, if you know about a quote, and if you obtained that quote from a certain source, you have to cite it. 3) No one ever said anything about credits to the "first person." It's credits to whatever source you used. If I used a reference of a person holding a gun, then that's the source I'll give. There's tons of pictures of people holding guns, so no, why would I give credit to the first person who posed holding a gun? 4) Your fourth point is when you started having no idea what you were talking about.
Also, I was asking if he used references aside from Nexon's official artwork.
This screenshot isn't about you, me, or what our thoughts are. If you wish to debate this, then do it in a PM. Otherwise, well, I'm just going to ignore you from now on.
@SeeingWind Did you use references for all of your drawings? I've gone through several hundred thousand pictures (searching for references), and I've seen a lot of your drawings before somewhere. Of course they've been modified to be made your own, but if you used references, you need to give credit to any and all primary references used.
If you don't show any kind of proof regarding him plagiarizing then you should just stay quiet. Does "Innocent until proven guilty" ring a bell?
Do you have to quote the first person that ever said something since you're using words that have already been used by such person? No.
Do you have to give credits to the first person that posed in a certain way just because he did it before you? No.
Do you have to give credits to the first person that did whatever only because he did that before you? No.
Him drawing in a certain way does not mean he has to give credits to a person that drew in a similar way. If things worked that way then the majority of people shouldn't be allowed to draw or do anything else seeing how there's often someone that has done it before.
EDIT: *this was written before the uploader of the drawing admitted he used Nexon's official artwork as a reference*

Everyone needs guns to be good. Look at me. With out guns I would have a range of 3~5
Nice color palette, nice composition, and it's very cohesive. Overall, great job .
Needs more likes.
Reminds me of Zuko...

A shame it specializes guns.
A more Buccaneer style gameplay would've fitted better.
Nice drawing, regardless.
Looks like something from Avatar
yes, the pic is awesome but the job still sucks
This is refreshing, I dig it. Great job!
I'm gonna be DAT GUY who attempts to be funny and fails. *ahem* LOL dragon warrior? Where da panda?
OT: Great drawing only concern is the fore head
Except you DO need guns to kick ass because they're your primary weapon
Reminds me of Zuko from ATLA.
The toes wouldnt be able to fit in those shoes xD
Shouda made it a panda..
