To buy or to not to buyCar

So my dad's friend is selling his 2010 Hybrid Toyota Camry for $3,000.
Thing is, it has 300k miles on it.
He said he replaced the battery (they're around ~$2,500) so hopefully that won't be a issue.

Any "car people" know if we should buy it or not? and if so, should I try going for lower?

Edit: The title was supposed to have periods before the word "Car".

Edit2: Also, the only reason I'm even considering it AT ALL is because ik Toyota is/is one of the top most reliable car manufacturer(s).

No.
My family has bought (and resold) around 10 used cars in the past few years, and they all had plenty of problems...but they all had LESS than 180k.
Can't even imagine the problems at 300k. MAYBE it'd be fine if he's replaced the engine and transmission, but still...you could find way less miles for $3000.

@lettucing: He's selling it because he bought a new Avalon and just doesn't want it I guess. My dad and his friend both drive for a private Uber-type company so that's why it has so many miles.

@killeem: Yeah I know. But since it is a Toyota, I'm hoping if it lasts at least 100k more miles, it will be worth it. If it was anything else (besides Honda, because ik they're reliable too), I wouldn't even be thinking about it in the least.

Yeah I have my eyes set on 2010 (or newer) Mazda 3s. They're not as reliable as Toyotas or Hondas, but they're close. And their resale value is far less so it will be cheaper. (If I do get a Mazda 3, I'm just going to drive it to the ground.)

god dam 300k miles.

idk that much about cars, but i think you should just use that 3k as a down payment for something better / less miles.

idk that doesn't sound bad for a hybrid, especially since the battery has been replaced recently. that's really high mileage for a 2010 though. i assume your dad's friend is honest about the car and giving you a decent price. why is he selling?
