Dualblade

avoid explantion?

hey, i recently quitte4d my phantom and moved to dual blade but i have a little problem,
with phantom i had magic guard(the fairy skill of magicen that takes mp instead of hp when you get hit),
but in db the only thing i have is avoid and i think its bugged? i searched about th new avoid system and saw that there ia a precentage of avoid like instead of max 100% there is 90%, but the avoid is with numbers and not prectenge.
i dont usually get hit because of the max avoid but its pretty annoying in twilight perion because the dodge is different than being hit, there is no cooldown before getting another hit, its like 20 dodges at a time and between them there is 1 hit and its very critical (2 hits and i die),
can someone explain the new avoid system? i once died because i got 2 hits in a row somehow(for example getting hit then dodge then another hit) , also the damage of the golems is incredibly stupid eand high even with max def
here pics of the problem:
1)max def and avoid
http://www.siz.co.il/my.php?i=oldoqtmd2j0d.jpg

2)getting mass guards without cooldown and then(not in the picture) hit and then mass guards again with sometimes another hit
http://www.siz.co.il/my.php?i=mylnvzdz5zgd.jpg
i think they should delay the time between guard and another guard
the only solution i find is trying to get to enought range to kill them more easily so i wont get hit or getting decent but lose some %luk.
edit~
i have checked some old threads but not sure if it was pre new avoid or post new avoid, and they said if your level is lower than the monster lvl the avoid decreases?,
also i thought at first it was because i dont have top&bot or overall but i think its stupid o.o
oh i see, so you are also saying its because the level gap between the character level and the monster , it makes more sense,
currently im lvl 191(taking my time because of finals </3), and it looks like 70% evade rate than 90% if its working like scrolls lol,
i get a hit after 5-7 blocks and sometimes lower, like 2 blockes and then a hit and then another hit sometimes.
i think i should update the thread and tell if the evasion rate is really higher when you are at the monster level .
Thanks for the explanation
Yeah, it's kind of an inconvenience as even with 90% Evasion Rate, a 10% hit chance still occurs pretty often since you're dealing with multiple hits from a single attack at Ancient Mixed Golems as opposed to just one hit from most mobs. There used to be a time when we had a 1 second invincibility before being hit again if you took touch/magic damage, which was really useful for bosses like Zak and HT back in the day when you had low HP, and were getting hit by multiple things like 1/1 spam. I'm not sure when they removed it, or why for that matter.
I'm going to do magic damage since your Magic Avoid isn't capped at 9999.

Sqrt (9781) - Sqrt (790)
= 98 - 28 (both are rounded down)
= 70 * 1.7x Evasion Rate multiplier (Side Step, Shadow Meld, Mirrored Target)
= 119, which is hard capped to 90% post-Unleashed

For every level the enemy is higher than you, your Evasion Rate decreases by 2%. You're 8 levels under (Ancient Mixed Golem is level 198), so that lowers it by 16%.

90 - 16 = 74% Evasion Rate

I haven't bothered to test this out, but skills might factor in after (instead of before) the 2% decrease per level difference.

If so, you're looking at 70 - 16 = 54 * 1.7x = 91.8, which is still hard capped to 90% Evasion Rate.

You should be able to tell me if it looks like you're evading at a 74 or 90% chance.

I'm a little surprised, you have max avoid and defense, but can't cut through Golems fast enough to avoid getting hit by a bunch in a row? Generally I don't even give them a chance to hit me multiple times, they die if they get within attack distance. If it's really bothering you you could put a 2 second invincibility neb on I suppose.
i can't kill them very fast at the moment because the gap level (there is a 20% chance to miss +-) and also im missing lots of items(im naked XD, no top and bottom or overall) , i think ill get a hb neb and reach 20k hp with that.

listen to the dude with the Lvl 206 NL instead of the incomplete answer from this 201 Mage/DrK that never avoids things ever ;D

does it mean there is a 71.88% chance of dodging?
@shimon6798: yea. before factoring in DB's skills
sqrt(Avoid)-sqrt(MonsterAcc) = avoid%
DB has skills which are multiplicative with avoid%
thanks for the asnwer but lets do the math
lets say sqrt9999-sqrt790=71.88
does it mean there is a 71.88% chance of dodging?
