Nexon Account ID Solution

Greetings Maplers!

The MTS is back online for all your Mapling needs. With the update, we have changed the way MTS stores player data to protect our players' privacy. We sincerely apologize that unintended information was previously made available through the MTS, and for players who are concerned about the potential impact of this issue, we are offering a way to disable your account ID, and log into MapleStory using your email address.

What You Need to Know Before You Proceed

- Before you consider this option, you must have access to the email address registered to your Nexon account. This change will be permanent. If you go through with this change, you must always use your email to login on the website and game.

How To Change Your Account ID To Your Registered Email

- To change your account ID as your registered email, please submit a ticket through our Support portal under the following:

o Game Selection: MapleStory

o Category: Account Information

o Sub-category: Personal Information

o Summary: MTS issue

- Our Customer Support agents will work with each individual to address their concern.

Please keep in mind that considering the agents are going to be addressing this issue individually, it may take a while for yours to be processed considering there were about 19,000 Account IDs leaked. As you can see, Nexon is making an effort to provide more security, albeit a slow effort, its still worth the procedure to do so if you want to further protect your account.

For a quick copy and paste example, here is what you can write:

I would like to disable my account ID, and log into MapleStory using my email address. My Account ID was leaked with the recent MTS exploit. Please make this change as soon as possible, for I am concerned about the potential impact of this issue.

UPDATE:

After you have submitted your ticket, you will receive an auto-response from Nexon asking you if you want to proceed with this process. In order to do so, you must have 2 things completed:

1. You MUST have access to the email address registered with your Nexon ID

2. You MUST set up your Security Questions, in order to further protect your account.

If you have done both of these things and would like to move forward through this process, please add a comment to your ticket by clicking the "Provide Additional Information" button when viewing your ticket on the website.

Another quick copy-paste for the response to the auto-response:

I have access to the email address associated with my NexonID and have also set up my security questions. I would like to move forward through the process of disabling my account ID, so I can log into MapleStory using my email address.

I hope this helps everyone who doesn't get around to reading the Nexon website, and please spread the word to your friends, so that everyone can feel safe playing on their accounts once again.

If Mr. Basil could sticky this or re-post it with a green bar at the top of the home page, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have to change your ID to the email connected to your account, or can you leave it as it is and continue to use your Nexon ID?

Sorry Kev, I tried searching for other threads before I posted this one, guess I missed yours. I'm just including extra info like the copy-pastes for what you should write for those who have a hard time knowing what to say in tickets.
There is definitely a solution o_o. You can change the email associated with your Nexon account via the Manage Account button. All you need to do is click on the confirmation link to your old email address, which allows you to enter a new one on the Nexon Website. If you have already submitted security questions, then you just have to answer them then enter your new email address. Nexon will then send a confirmation link to your new email address. Upon confirmation, your email address registered to your Nexon account will be changed.

@HaiHaixD:

Please make sure you read my update, as it has to do with the auto-response to your ticket and why it is already a work in progress. Follow through with the instructions so they can process your request.

@Lenitos:

I don't understand what you mean by a modem change. If you mean you switched to a different internet service provider and your old email was associated with your isp, you can always contact them via their customer support and work out a way to get your email back. Most companies are usually helpful to do so.

@Akatsuki0826

Sadly, yes, you do need to have the current email address associated with your nexon ID.
thanks for replying. yes i am currently aware of what i have to do. i have already ordered online for my email to be active again, and they sent a "processing" email to my second email saying that it would take 24 hrs for confirmation. 2 days so far...but no confirmation. im planning to give them a call tomorrow.
