Which instrument should I learn?

Good day everyone,
So I've taken an interest in music again and decided to learn either the piano or acoustic guitar. If you guys play either or both could you tell me which you prefer, which you found easier, what the hardest part of it was, maybe some pros and cons and if you enjoyed it? And even if you don't play one, could you tell me which you think sounds better?
Thanks ^-^

I play both to some degree; hard to say which I prefer. If I'm composing chords I go to piano but if I want a catchy melody I work it out on guitar. Overall I probably prefer piano because it's easier to work out different chord voicings and make interesting harmonies

@MateoCl: I don't play acoustic that much. Everyone I know who does sounds like they're playing the same thing all the time, thus it becomes boring. I do play riffs, lots of riffs. I've learned (not necessarily memorized) literally thousands of riffs. And yeah I do look up tabs, cause I don't know how to transfer the notes I hear to my guitar except by very long trial and error. I can't read sheet music for guitar, but hey, neither can The Beatles, James Hetfield, Slash, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Mustaine, etc.
Well I don't wanna be "that guy" but there are probably enough guitar players in the world, me being one of them. And acoustic guitar players get boring fast...chords lol.
There are many times I hear amazing piano parts in songs and I wanna know how to play them, but all I could do is look it up on YouTube and learn it from sight rather than actually knowing the notes.

I'd recommend piano.
Well it's not really the fault of the instrument if your playing gets stale. That's on you. Learn different songs, don't just play chords, learn riffs. There's tons to do on any instrument, but you have to actually try. Also learning songs by ear is a talent that not that many people possess. Lots of people would have to look up the sheet music for any song.

OMG. One of the guys I used to play in band did that in 6th grade. He became so in love with it that all he did was play and now he's pursuing a life in music. He also made it into NYO USA. Pretty insane

I am a proud flute player. However, no instrument is greater than any other, it's just what you can do with them. If you are doing this for more of an appearance, guitar. People tend to respect guitar players and it took me only about a month to learn. It's also much more portable.

Piano is definitely more professional and in my opinion, has the highest potential off all instruments due to the amount you can invest in pianos to get the most out of them. If you just had a busy day and need to sestreask piano is defiantly the choice for you. Guitarists, especially those who sing while they play guitar, can play subconsciously. However the amount of relaxation and carefree style cannot be matched with piano. Your fingers will eventually develop minds of their own and you can simply let them Flow on the keys.

I am bias towards piano, but that's just my opinion

I play the piano. Like xylyls said, playing the piano really gives you an advantage in playing other instruments in the long run.
However, keep in mind that you really need to practice in the beginning when you learn piano. Depending on what age you are and your living circumstances, you might not be near a piano often. For example, an acoustic guitar would be much more convenient (portable) to learn as a beginner if you're a college student that is dorming.

I play the piano. But if you want to show of your talent possibly in the future, and you want to serenade girls, then you should play the acoustic guitar. Take a look at Sungha Jung's youtube channel for some evaluation and inspiration.

Piano is bad ass.

You can put objects in it to change the sounds.

I quit piano lessons when I was 7 and didn't regret it until I had a music class last semester where the instructor was a music theory TA who knew all kinds of piano things.

I'd take a shot at the piano.

I would've learned how when I was younger, but sheet music turned me off from it.
I'm tied between those two and since I don't know much about either as I'll be starting off as a beginner, I came here for advice @_@
well piano has a much higher learning curve. but if you can master a piano you can truly get the hang of any other instrument.
