Having mained a mech to 200 for about 2 years (before the revamp), and currently maining a 203 WA for 1 year, I'd have to say I like the WA much more. WA are just more mobile and easier to boss with, but mechanics are good at clearing mobs for quests with their bots. I checked out my mech after the revamp but I'm not really impressed with his skills. The playstyle has changed somewhat and it's not quite as appealing to me, but you might enjoy it. I dunno how they compare in dps, but my vote for fun factor goes to the WA
Wind Archers seem better than Mechanics (which are still a little clunky) to me.

Wind Archers are pretty secci with their flashy skills
Mechanics got new skills.
And new is always better.
WA fer sure
ignores 50% ele defense off the hop, mobs incredibly well, great mobility.
