Nexon finally gets it
Going on their website i recently saw this exclusive club called the golden snail club. The benefits are actually quite good.

There's another one with azwan update. That one involves only special players being allowed in certain events.

^ look at that before you say it's only for nx paying customers. I doubt they would hold special events that only ppl who buy heaps of nx can participate in aswell
I think or maybe am hoping nexon finnally gets it. They are rewarding the players that are legit (never been banned). They are actually, omg nexon i can't believe it making us feel like loyal customers *gasps*. I'm not really sure what they mean by "loyal players" but i hope it's that: legit players. The reason ppl hack is because alot of the hacks them allow you have a better game experience. If nexon starts rewarding players who haven't been banned they're actually doing something right.
Because before it felt as if nexon did not care and actually wants hackers as they gave them money via nx. If they do stuff like this, that. Perception willl change.

P.S I wasn't invited to the golden snail club and i have been banned b4. So i don't really know if they are sending these to legit or longterm players. This whole thing is based on that.
Conclusion:
Hope they continue with these type of rewards not too often because then a huge amount of players will feel left out, not to mention those unbanned unfairly and those like me that hacked in the past and now regret it ( I deserve to be left out).
They should throw these in every so once in a while so ppl remember it pays to be loyal to Nexon but the game is still accessible to newbies.

for the bigwigs I think it has to do with azwan fighting. If you are loyal to your server, you will fight a LOT and rack up a LOT of points for your server.
How does this benefit legit players?
It's his opinion that the "loyal maplers" are the ones in the Golden Snail club/ or haven't been banned. So don't freak too much guys.
Personally, I think it would make sense for Golden Snail Club people to be exclusive to it (I'm not in it) because it seems like the only thing those people get are an offer to spend more money, and I guess filling out surveys to get prepaid is nice, but ew. surveys.
Another idea I'd think would be for maplers that have played for a while. (since beta maybe?) <that might be unfair, but the people that have stuck to this game since beta must be loyal right? (assumptions)

OT: You dont need to spend alot of NX to get in, but legitness is important...
I've played MS since 2007, and I've spent over $1000, but I guess that's not enough...

Banned? Yes
I was invited to join the Secret Order of the Golden Snails couple of months back. I've been playing since the opening of Maple Story 7 years ago and I've spent ~$2.3k. I've never hacked though.
Side note: I wouldn't believe people who say they've hacked, been banned and were still invited. Lots of trolls out there.

I've been in this Golden Snail Club for 2 months now.. It was a secret club that only we knew, that's why you're just now knowing about it..

Well judging from what everyone's saying, I think Nexon has set up a number of qualifications for the golden snail. I have a feeling that there are "Age of account" and "money spent" thresholds that decide who makes it and who doesnt. Maybe nexon formed some relatively simple function of the two and used that to decide. An old account is obviously required. I definitely think it has to do with nx spent as the benefits essentially encourage increased nx spending. However, if there is some function combining age and nx spent then theoretically it could be possible for a relatively new account thats spent an outrageous amount on nx to have gotten in. But I cant know for sure. Just some Ideas
If you got "mistakenly" banned, Nexon probably did it on purpose so you would try making a new account and buying thousands of dollars worth of NX on that account.
yea so I think you need to have an old account and have spent ooddles of money on nx. I started playing just after beta, and over many years, I'm sad to say that i've gradually spent a crap ton on this game and I got invited a couple of months ago. But its not like I just blew a whole lot of money because im rich (im nowhere close ) it just adds up over the years. Also, its not really gonna help us until MTS is re-instituted.

Never been banned or anything, yet I'll never be allowed into something like this because I live in the UK. And it's because of that, that I'm not allowed to use cards, billtomobile, paypal, participate in surveys etc. I'm not even allowed to enter that comic making competition that was on the homepage, because apparently I can't enter something that only requires the internet to participate and receive in-game items because I live in the UK.
Just thought I'd have a moan B)

I doubt nexon would go by anything besides their ban system though. If they are even doing this to reward legits... Which i'm still unsure of.

Well you can try linking all the accounts to an IP, seeing where the person is coming from. Another way is by monitoring players that are Golden Snails or soon to be, (but that'll be too much work). There are many ways to tell from cheaters to legits, and that hacking is not the only one, exploits are just as bad, etc. Honestly what I really think about is that most of this community has somehow participated into "hacking" or "exploits", not as "the actual person" but as an accessory. So there's a lot to be thought about for this Secret Order of the Golden Snail. However I don't think Nexon is thinking about this.
I highly doubt that nexon is doing this right, I have been banned while nexon was on their little auto-banning spree around the start of this year

It's hard to claim what's "legitimate" now these days. I mean any kind of hacker who hasn't gotten banned over the past years and somehow gets it would be twisted. Just because a player has been banned doesn't mean they actually did it. However I can't say the same for myself, I got two well deserved bans. That's just my explanation as well. I'm not saying that the logic that "not banned=legit" is not a good way to give the Secret Order of the Golden Snail, but it can turn up that way, and I don't think that will be fair in the end. I would go further but this type of community can explain itself it has already shown it's true colours.

He was trying to type benefits. The benefits of being a Golden Snail, is [b]NOT[/b] that you can eat the snail, no no. It's that your NX Credit will turn into prepaid in future purchases, and maybe even more benefits in the future.

I have not spent the hundreds or thousands of NX that some of you guys say you have, but I got the invitation maybe a month earlier. I have been playing since beta and the opening of GMS, so the "loyal Maplers" may just be that I've been around for quite a long time.

There was a screenshot on basil like a month or two ago, you need to spend Thousands on NX to get into it.
