Mage

I want to remake a mage, but which type?

I haven't played maplestory in a good 3-4 years, I think I quit just after NLC came out...? Not sure. Anyway, I used to play an F/P Mage; I loved it and got it to 80 before quitting. I didn't, however, love 3rd job as much... even 4th job didn't seem very "fun" to me. I've since come back and levelled my bowman to 100 and my cleric to 140 during 3x exp. (I miss it already! It spoiled me... eek!) I'm really wanting to level a good ol' fashion mage now. I like my bishop as a support role and I like my ranger (now my main) for seeing high damage numbers, but I would be interested in having a high damage-dealing magic class. I was never one for melee classes, and most of the new classes don't "grab me" so I don't really want one of those...

Anyway, I can't decided what type to roll, a F/P or I/L mage, an evan, a battle mage or a blaze wizard...

Coming back from a loooong hiatus to all these new classes and changes is kinda overwhelming and I don't really know the difference between each one, the main one that is grabbing my attention is the evan, only because the dragon is so adorable... Battle mages also seem fun to, but I don't know much about them.

What would you suggest? Which of the above is the most fun and viable?

I like dealing high damage, but not obsessed with it, I also like skills that look cool - as well as having some sort of mobility skill like teleport or double jump...

Thoughts?

A battlemage would be good to start off. <: Biased answer, yes.

With little funding in the beginning you can dish out nice damage. We get our own little HB, that doubles our HP due to being a close combat mage. In addition to teleport, we have yellow aura, which increases movement speed. As the first poster said, come Resistance revamp, we will be able to stack all three of our auras.
Fourth job things get really good with some invincibility with Twister Spin and Party Shield. We get a dark version of Genesis and Stance, which prevents KB at 90% once maxed.

I will warn that you may want to invest in some kind of estaff. Reason being our quintuple/finishing blow are based on speed. And you can really tell the difference in attack speed when using a slow/normal speed staff and going to a fast speed staff.

Well...no melee but I'll leave that in case.

Anyways...I would say i/l or f/p then rofl. Mages got a revamp a while ago~
I lean more towards i/l just because I like the skill set more. You're also good to go as an i/l in terms of mobbing in the beginning and even til 4th (not sure if this applies to f/p since I haven't tried).

Evans are cool looking and all but the though of spending nx on guidebooks is a turn off. ._.;

I/L gets pretty redundant, just still kinda fun if you get Flame Gear. (More DoT skills! )
F/P has a trickier keyboard setup, just I've never gotten one past 3rd job, so not sure if it's more fun than my I/L.
BaM uses more skills then F/P, and IMO has worse damage.
Evan has NX Mastery Books for some skills, and is pretty weak until you get Flame Wheel.

This is all my opinion, do whatever you want.

Oh wow, the whole 120 BW+making a ultimate adventurer sounds pretty OP, haha.

I didn't know battle mages were close combat... hmmm...
