I just saw the kings speech (Golden globe poop)

yeah it was good, colin firth totally deserved some sort of award for his role... but jesse eisenbergs performance in the social network was amazing, he totally deserved to win "best performance in a motion picture". Do the organizers of these award ceremonies have a vendetta against younger actors? also fair play to trent reznor for winning the best original score award, but daft punk weren't even nominated for tron! and alice in wonderland was!

i lost some of my appreciation for social network with the controversy of it being exaggerated/untrue/etc. which made some of the nominations/wins for it a bit annoying aside from the fact that it mostly swept the awards. was more disappointed with some of the earlier wins than anything else though, best actor/actress were fine in my book.

especially since eisenberg has already done some great movies and even solid performances in iffy ones, so i know he's got a lot ahead of him. not sure how much colin firth has under his belt but i've got such high hopes for king's speech (haven't seen it yet) that i'd like to think his performance was that good.

@Colour: You've gotta see it if you haven't already, he plays the character so well - sorta hard to explain. Mark Zuckerberg In real life is really socially awkward, so he tries to get over that by being overly arrogant and boastf'ul about his intelligence that really pisses a bunch of people off. It's left to the audience to decide whether you like him or not. I didn't even like his character that much at the end of it but I wont spoil it for you. I don't really know how my explaination can justify it because its something you just have to see

@Mageterra fair enough emma, it is pretty good though

The Social Network is an amazing film, Alex. Not too interested in watching the King's speech...I mean, it's a film about a King with a speech impediment? Yeah... Jesse Eisenberg plays an amazing part in the social network. Very believable.

oh i see, sorry about that. fair enough, he's almost 40 I think though now, and jesse is in his late 20's
No problem. Late 30s, yeah. That's young to my understanding. I see. Was he really all that good in The Social Network?
what? you mean jim parsons from the big bang theory? I'm not really talking about the comedy or director golden globe awards... Colin firth won the award for best actor in a motion picture, and I was saying that jesse eisenberg should have won it for his part as mark zuckerberg
Jim is pretty young, I guess you mean younger. I was just relating to your thought that younger actors/actresses aren't really accounted for. I didn't watch either movie myself, so I didn't really care about the award. I'm sure he'll probably swoop an Oscar.
Well I thought Parsons well deserved that Globe. What an achievement for him. Why did Social Network get Best Director? Just wow.
