so to open the box, you'd need 1 equip slot, 6 use slots and 1 etc slot open. note that even if one of our etc item is spell trace or fp coin, you'll still need a free slot in your etc slot.
To get the actual box itself (which all hot times usually come in) only requires a single use tab space. I bet they made it so you can't open the box afterwards if you have a certain amount of slots unavailable.
