Where did everyone go?
Hey guys I've been playing since the very beginning of beta on and off every few months/year. The most recent break was my longest as I thought I was quitting forever (got hacked of everything 4 years ago).
Things are so different now what happened to the population?
Channels used to be decently filled and basil had a plethora of auctions. Where do people post and buy stuff now? Im starting in Mardia with a friend and it'd be nice to make more tips are also welcome to catch me up! Ign: MageIsChris

The average amount of mesos (for people who still play) is like 30bil.
And they all just sell NX or cube stuff (using NX) to get it.
People quit because it's completely pay2win and it's not fun even then.
So have fun!
@Axnslicer: Oh. I wouldn't know. I never got to that high of a level or even had enough funds to be strong enough to train at SH
@powerguy121: Ah, alright. I wasn't around in 2010 when the Big Bang update happened, and I actually returned to Maple in summer of 2011. At that time, the population was still decent. LHC channels were full almost all the time, and I always saw people around. Probably 2012'ish is when the population really started going downhill.
The LHC population moved to SH. Finding a free SH map during 2x is impossible in Bera.
On the bright side it seems most of the flamers/trolls on here have died down too lol
I only just noticed that

@VoidWreck
game actually declined after 2011
Was there a certain moment when the population dipped?
Probably after the Big Bang update in 2010. That was the update that changed the game completely by making it easier to level up. From then on, the game just became a solo fest and it got boring quickly because everything was easier, however now the game is more pay2win unlike before.

well mardia is a dead world come to bera
Recently, they also start selling Owl of Minerva in the general shop for 10k mesos.
You can use it to find any item in the Free Market except for Cash Item.

The population has gone down and people mainly use the good ol' fm now for buying/selling. Don't pay any attention to the auctions since almost nobody uses it anymore.
Since you're in Mardia, you can bl my sair if you want.
Thanks for all the info guys especially the owl one being moved O_O
MS became a P2W Solo game.
I came back recently too. Seems like population declined, and game is very late-game focused. You can choose to socialize and just hang out with people, but it seems like a larger majority of people are able to access end-game content than ever before.
As for the auctions, owl of minerva, an item that allows you to search all the FM rooms has been moved from the cash shop to general store merchants for only 10k meso.
people buy stuff in Free Market as always
and some people spend real money to buy items in a Black Market that I cannot mention on Basil.
There's also a website that helps you search for any items in the Free Market (except the latest item if they are not available in the database yet) which I also cannot mention on Basil,
