To be honest, I played with Bishop all the way to 200 and I never got bored of it. I also tried I/L using a Job Advancement coin with the same character, same gears, same level, but I found myself for some reason getting bored faster with I/L than Bishop. In fact, I've seen other players to be more satisfied playing with either Bishop or F/P than I/L, and even the serious players who already played their way to 200 with an I/L will tell you that they're disappointed with I/L.

I/L doesn't have skills as flashy as Bishop, and not even as flashy as Luminous. Also, I/L will hit less damage on mobs than Bishop, not mentioning that AR + Level 150 Hyper Skill combo is an even superior bossing skill than Lightning Chain, not mentioning that Bishop's damage is pretty much in par with Zero without heavy funds. Also, you'll have HS for yourself, which helps you gain experience way faster if you're training by yourself, making your way to Level 200 less painful. You'll never get bored of it!
To be honest, I prefer the new animations for I/L than Bishop. That ugly AR sword. But let me note that bishops do not get elemental reset in comparison to I/L or F/P AMs therefore we do suffer a little bit from that unless you're heavily funded.

I like both game play and styles and while I'd tell you to go for Bishops, I/Ls are pretty great too. They can get into bosses fairly easily with their bind (Freezing Breath) which is helpful for bosses like Magnus and Empress.

I'd say try both and see which one you like better. I personally enjoy both classes equally but my friends prefer me as a bishop (for obvious reasons like HS).
1) you no longer turn off your VoA to buff.
2) yes, you buff everyone, but so does everyone else (at least most of the classes)
3) Bishops are just as fun.
1) my macro won't complete with decent skill and VoA on, and it's annoying to have buffs running out on different time. Plus, you still can't heal or dispel with VoA on, and they just want heal/dispel when they can just take a potion.

2) The point is people keep running after you for buff when you don't feel like giving buff, or tell you that's your job. The problem is you don't always have to buff people just because you're bishop. They feel like the only reason they should recruit you in a pt is because you have skill that they want, but it shouldn't be that way. Sure other people have buffs I can use, but I don't care if I get buff from other people. I get them when I catch them casting buffs. I don't have to have it, like it will kill to not have it. It's annoying to see desperate people.

3) That's your opinion I have mine, and I can tell people what I feel about it. You do know that they don't always have to hear all the good things about it. They knew what's good about a bishop anyway. I'm not so interested to tell people bishop is fun either, and I don't have to tell people it's fun. In fact, people start saying what's fun about bishops when you tell them it sucks.
honest answer: go play i/l and don't ever play bishop. Giving buffs sucks and you do it every 3min in pt, then you will notice one specific person purposely miss it every time and spam you with hs plz OR you go in boss run and this person always running behind you buff plz buff plz so you have to turn off VoA and buff that person just to wait for another person to come behind you and ask for the same thing again... no thanks go play i/l. End of story. I mean unless you consider that fun
@nc4228: Not just support.
I am proud to be the one doing the most damage in a lot of bossing runs with friends.
Also, I leech people. They be like: "Kay, you do all the work, we gona go back in a few hours, when wer'e level 250".

I/L is cool (pun intended), but not as cool as the Bishop.

@natty2: agreed, are u trying to get biased opinion?

I would go with bishop (especially since u can't care more about damage). Don't get me wrong, I/L are a good class too and post-RED both use a variety of skills.

But as a support class in parties, especially if u like support and can't get bored of it, bishop is ur choice.

Why, sure, ask in the Bishop section.
Very smart.

I would say i/l since they have more choice of skills but bishop spam skills n get into party much faster.

Bishop spam a wide variety of skills and they can maneuver more mobs than an IL mage.

However I/L Mages are also good in the long run so is a hard choose, i'd say go for bishop.

Ice lightning mages get repetitive but bishop is can't really say since they are a support class. If you like support then it's good.

Fun is on your end. We don't really know what you consider fun.

Ice Lightning Mage for fun and you won't get bored easily. Bishops get boring in the long run, I can't lie.
