Art

After recent comments about my posts and screens

I know I'm not a great artist, and I need to improve myself,
and I hate people that post hurtful comments, I even respect those who say that my art is bad, but tell me how to improve.
But it's really rare to find people that actually say nice things or even people that defent me from the bad ones, and this makes me sad
most of Basil's people suck

Just try not to let what other people say bother you. I used to be like that and honestly, it just brings the self-esteem down more and more.
But if they are giving you constructive criticism, you should try to consider them since they can help you improve.
Also, ditto at what the two above comments say.

There are people who post helpful comments.. try to make the best of those instead of making the worst out of the bad comments. What's seen cannot be unseen and it's up to you to deal with it.

Without looking at your screens, I felt a bit of sympathy for you, since I know basil can be harsh.

But then, I looked at your screens and it looks like someone younger than ten was drawing >_>
If that's the case, my apologies, however I think you should practice a lot more before submitting further works; otherwise be prepared for the negativity that comes with it.

Just keep practicing for now and get better at drawing lines but when you notice that you're drawings are close to the originals start drawing from you're own imagination and studying anatomy, lighting, pose exercises and that kinda stuff but for now improve your hand-eye coordination. Everybody starts somewhere and also when you post something try not to insult or else you'll never get good replies.

Just keep on practicing and you'll get better. If you don't like people's comments on them, then don't post them until your drawing style improves.

@TalS7300:
Honestly, you sound like you're here trying to make friends [through sympathy of all things].
If you have time to waste making threads and asking for pity, you have time practice.

Cus if you're looking for inspiration, being on basilmarket is screeching that
You're not doin it right.
And YOU have to remember that WE are people behind screens, too.
"most of Basil's people suck"
and you think that's right?
We are not insulting you, each of us are entitled to our own opinions.
If you wish not to see hurtful comments, please refrain from posting.
There are always these kinds of people, no matter where you go.
It's hard to find people that say nice things?
I would rather have them tell me my art is horrible than have them lie to me that it's "great."
To me, "ew it sucks" is more of an inspiration than "WOW, THAT'S SO GOOD!""
because it tells me that I should keep improving.
Others stop improving when they hear that their artwork is "perfection" so why do you dislike the "insults" that you receive?

Fun Facts:
People who have recently started drawing and sharing/posting to basil have begun to regard themselves as the new generation of so called Basil Artists.
They believe that they deserve -mad- respect for who they are and what they draw.
Any unasked criticism entitles them to lash out... like slang monsters on others with bad grammar.
For if the audience can't draw, supposedly they aren't allowed to critique their work no matter how true it is.

If basilers were to be nice to all artists, would they draw better?
Would some of them stop acting arrogant when replying to quotes?
Would they finally accept the harsh comments without QQ'ing?

So unless the basiler doesn't 'suck', they can look down on your work?
Qurl, i'll do it whether or not i actually suck at drawing.

Well you will not get anywhere unless someone criticizes you. Do you think you'll get anywhere in life if all you've been told you entire life "Great Job! Nothing wrong with this!" And if some random people insult you, I have no idea how you'll survive in the real world.

And you're saying "don't leave mean comments, people have feelings," yet you insult people yourself! You just said I'm, and maybe most other people on the site that we suck. Come on now. We have our opinions. And you're an artist! You NEED to learn to take criticism.
You guys need to understand :
There are two kinds of bad comments :
The ones that tell me it's bad, but telling me how to improve, and the ones that just tell me to stop, because it's so horrible.
I truly appreciate and respect the people posting the first kind of comment. But the ones who tell me to stop, no, I just don't see the "inspiration to keep improving" part in it.
I do not see myself as the "new generation of Basil artists", I see myself as a trainee, trying to improve myself by other people's "first kind of bad comments.

No offense but they are pretty bad. like I could draw any of those better than you in less than 5 minutes. and honestly, don't post if you can't take the heat. It's not like basil insults good artists, it just happens that your drawings are bad. what do you want us to do, lie to you?
