I Need some Calc Help Please
Hi. I have the answers, but I have no idea how to get to them. Any help would be appreciated.
1. Find the values of a and b if the function y=2x^3+ax^2+bx+36 has a local max when x=-4 and local min when x=5
Answer: a=-3 b=-120

Can't believe I forgot how to do these.
Don't you just plug in the values and simplify?
