Updates

Memory Leak has been revamped

Yup, the memory leak is here again, and it's gotten even better!
Now when you log in, Maple can use ONE whole gig of ram!
Additionally, it only takes TEN minutes to use TWO gigs of ram!

omg nexon you're really killing me here

EDIT: Reinstalling in the vain hope that it will do SOMETHING to make this game playable again.
Go buy Advanced SystemCare 8, its like 10$ and it fixes ram issues while the game is running. Every hour or so rather than closing an reopening maple i just click a button on the top right of my screen and it corrects about 1gb of memory.
Why should we pay for a program because of Nexons inability to probably program a game?

You guys are forgetting there's also a CPU leak, but yea, It's funny to see that maplers aren't "mad" in some way but now maplers are watching Nexon as a funny useless company... and the truth is that this is a 2D game and where someone can run Tera fast and smoothly, MapleStory lags to unbelieveable limits, yea I will vote also to Nexon as a funny company, let's all laugh together

On my Windows XP laptop, when I minimize maplestory the memory usage goes down to 50mb, but it eventually goes back up.

@Aiacu: No what i meant was, everyone is saying that they're lagging heaps because of the memory leak, i honestly can't tell the difference whether or not I'm lagging lol

since I've always played from Australia the latency has always been the same-ish for me
am i the only one who doesn't really care if maple takes 2gbs? o.o
Could be. I wouldn't mind if the game looked like a game that would require that much. But we all know that it shouldn't, which is why I dislike this.

Mine is a stable 1 gb horray!
atm the cpu usage hits 60% max which is always better than the 100% spikes I get sometimes.
I bet the next update will increase the memory to 2m.
Already happened. I've seen 2.5gb of ram usage. It crashed my entire computer. 4 times.

Maple's always been eating away 1GB of my memory, but sometimes it only takes 800MB hooray.
l usually stop playing when it goes up to 2GB.
I never said it wouldn't cut it, I am just saying it could run a lot better lol. it's like using minimum specs to run everything, however over the years nexon never really did tidy up the game which is why it is like this... Horrible formatting. I do think nexon has to fix this but I find their latency issues to be a bigger problem.
Never said you did. I'm saying my laptop should be enough to run this game. Oh, and I haven't noticed the latency issues because living in Australia it's a regular occurence to me.

Wouldn't make a difference desktop or laptop if they have the same specs. 4GB ram and an i5 should cut it for a 2D game shouldn't it. I don't understand how on earth Nexon even managed to do this.
