Their ToS isn't legally viable. If they used it against you in court, they would get laughed at.

At everyone saying nexon is gonna get shut down over a lawsuit? Just think about it.

Nexon is making $800 million + a year, and how much can someone get over something they don't even technically own? Most likely a few grand. It isn't even worth Nexon's time to take them to court. They're making 2-3 million a day. With 10,000 per lawsuit (most likely more then they'd give out anyways), they'd need 250 or so lawsuits being settled EACH DAY. And that's just for that one day to become unprofitable. One person / a group of people will never be able to take down a close to billion dollar company.

It should be mentioned that hackers help keep Nexon funded. Keep this in mind, hackers are constantly botting for mesos/items. With an increase of mesos in the economy, there is naturally an overall inflation in all items. With This inflation, people are constantly going to keep having to keep converting nx cash to mesos. Most people who are getting hacked will eventually rejoin maple and some will most likely use nx as a stimulus to recover from their loses.

Also, as I have stated from my essay on the account hackers, the account hackers will eventually establish a market dominance either by themselves, or with the aid of the freemarket barons which will lead to an inflation which will make people buy more nx in order to keep up.

That being said, I'd give Nexon 10 years.

4 years then there will be one huge exploit where everyone lost their nx and they will get sued

In case you people haven't noticed, despite all the issues currently surrounding the game, MapleStory continues to grow. I say another 7-10 years for MapleStory. Much longer for Nexon because they are one of the most dominant and innovative forces in online gaming and plan on become even more dominant with their investments in mobile and social network gaming.
Edit: By reading through the comments I'm convinced that most of you are blind. Have you not seen Nexon? They are so popular. They have really great games which are really popular. Nexon is far from going under. People also think that MapleStory is the game that is keeping Nexon and the rest of its games alive. Let me tell you that Nexon can survive on any one of the games it currently services. They're all really successful and more than sustain themselves. And Nexon isn't expanding in one direction (desktop games), they're going into mobile, console and social network gaming too. They really are an amazing company business wise, just not so amazing at the actual running of the games.

A game that has enough players will not die. It will simply transfer to another company if there is one willing to buy the game. ( Like Audition, though redbana is even worse than nexon )

This. I mean c'mon guys, hacking periods and exploits and such come and go. There's nothing nexon can do about it. The only way the can actually beat the hackers is by... well being one of them. By playing the role of a "hacker" they might be able to see the problems and fix them before hackers can have a chance to do anything. Buuuut no one knows what goes on in nexon's mind... soooo yeah.

MS isn't going anywhere, its just one of the constant hacking stages, you know, history repeats itself.

They're already branching out into Facebook games and other online games, and other games are becoming a lot more popular than MapleStory now, so they probably see the end coming. You'll notice all the horribly expensive Cash Shop items that have been added lately in an attempt go get as much money out of the players as they can before everyone leaves for newer games.

You're mixing up Nexon with MapleStory.

NEXON will be around for a long, long time. They'll just keep making more games and making tons of money from those games, regardless of what happens to MapleStory.

Actually, courts have often overturned restrictive covenants in user terms if serious negligence can be demonstrated. The fact that the ToU says they can't be sued is mostly their hope the courts will side with them.

Well if nexon dies thats the end of that

the real players will all quit, but somehow nexon will still be making money through those bots who buy nx to: pet loot/smega advertise/name change/etc.

Never..

-People getting hacked left and right, with our complaints falling on deaf ears
-An overall joke of security and customer support
-Too much emphasis on cash shop items
-Lack of new, quality content for all levels

If major changes aren't made, I'd give GMS another 2-3 years.
