Two Questions about Mercedes
1. Does Water Shield work like Power Guard/Reflection in the sense that it absorbs some damage from 1/1 so you are never truly reduced to 1 hp / mp?
2. How are they with pot consumption (specifically HP pot consumption) because from my experience with bowmans, they tend to need to pot after 1-2 strong hits at LHC, so is Mercedes different?

@quincyryuken
The fact that you think survivability is primarily based on "high HP" pretty much disarms your entire argument/stance.
@quincyryuken: Mmhm. Decent HB is about 800-1b depending on your server. Just trust the experienced players. We mean it. You do not need HB. Vulnerability in 3rd job is barely significant when you have PQ options nowadays such as Pyramid PQ(ZERO HP CONSUMPTION upto and including lvl 109)
@quincyryuken: What looks to be is not always what it actually is. Patience and persistence and you'll see what we mean when you hit 4th.
I can stand (buffed) at the bottom of a crocky map and not die, assuming my buffs never wore off, for hours. without potting even once. just to put it into perspective.
furthermore, @ryuushinou and @ImaHooka summed up the rest of what i was going to say.
2. like all bowmen, decent hb is a (almost) must have
Incorrect. It's definitely not a 'must' nor is it an 'almost'. From personal experience Mercedes do not require HB at all, it does help like it helps other classes but we're definitely not squishy as some people claim. The only place where I can see Hb being useful is for bosses stronger than CZak. I solo CZak occasionally and I've never died from seduce.
1. Yes
2. If you play smart you won't pot or rarely pot. I only pot at SH unless I just switch to Rising Rush+Rolling Moonsault until I heal.
Whoever, if you're not funded, it's really hard to hit decent damage, but they are still really fun to play.
1. Yes
2. Survivability can be an issue, especially at bosses like empress and stuff where you get 1 hit KOed. But once you start getting more hp and stuff, you should be fine with regular training and stuff. Most of your attacks are ranged or have i-frames anyways + the elven healing skill
you will be good at both questions, merc can live with much longer then you thought even with the self heal skill, and water shield will be perfect if you pick herbing
1. Yes
2. Early on you may need to pot. Once you get a lot of hp via equips you could probably take a few hits and heal it off.
